Nah... how about I enjoy my job as I see fit and leave the whining to you.

In regards to the Compass rumor, it's still little more than wishful thinking on BB's part for now. The Compass guys are aware of the rumor too, but they seem to have enough to worry about as it is.

That is irrelevant. If they didn't think 99 seat aircraft were not possible there would be nothing in the contract for it.

I get a tired of hearing the whining about 175's at shuttle not making more money. OUR contract is not based on a model # its based on seating. You are not working any harder flying a 175 with 76 seat vs a 170 with 70. If anybody your FAs ought to be making more money.

If we want a good contract there is plenty of guidance in our old one as to what is wrong.

PS I am not slamming our contract or those who had negotiated it. I am however asking people to RTFC!!

Actually, I'm loving my new job so far. I'm only inclined toward "whining" when I have to listen to somebody talk about turning their nose up at anything smaller than an E175. RAH already has enough would-be newhires who are so in love with the big shiny jet that they're not paying enough attention to little things like the contract - or ways to make it better.

SG - They should get paid more for bigger aircraft and more seats because that's the way our next contract should be written. Negotiation time is a good time for the S5 guys to get angry about these things...

But we get paid the same regardless of 35 pax, or 76. Great attitude. How about getting some A320s, would you still fly them for $22.95 an hour?

I hope some of our more senior captains give you a good education.

Some may not fly and A320 without more money, but there are many less qualified people who would fly it for less than that. There lies the problem.

FYI: the Shuttle/Delta 175s = 76 seats. No more than the airways 170's.

I was only voicing a personal preference about an aircraft I would like to fly. And of course, FOs are paid the same on jets. That's the way it is and I accept it. Why whine about something you can't change? And we don't get paid per passenger. Again, so what? Industry standard. You can't change it. Why is it you are bothered by my wanting to fly a plane that holds more passengers? Must whining about pay be bought into EVERYTHING? I'm not sure what you think senior captains are going to educate me on. Perhaps they'll warn me against having personal preferences. With regards to Airbus 320s... not gonna happen, which goes to show you have to trump up a completely bogus premise to prop up your weak argument. And remember, you're complaining about a simple personal preference.

First off, I said nothing resembling "turning my nose up" at anything smaller than an E175. That's your spin, and it's not accurate nor representative of what I said. And for your information, I've gotten past the love affair with the big shiny jet during my 1,100 hours flying the E145. Next, it's industry standard for regionals to pay FOs the same to fly any jet. So in reality, your beef shouldn't be with me, it should be with the industry standard. I accept the standard and realize it's not going to change. Apparently you don't. With regards to the contract... geez, I'm in day 3 of Basic Indoc. Would it be OK with you if I concentrate on training? I've gotten an overview of the contract from a friend here, and it seems reasonable. As time permits, I'll look more closely. Now with regards to getting angry during contract negotiations, be my guest. Whether or not you think we should be paid more to fly the 175 as an FO is irrelevant. It's not going to happen, so get used to it. Plus, getting angry clouds one's judgment. Frankly, I think that's the case with you here in this thread. I merely mentioned I'd like to fly the 175... if my personal preference makes you mad, it's your problem, not mine.

Actually RSD.....there a numerous regional jet companies who have different pay scales for FO's on different JET equipment.... off the top of my head, SKW, ASA, COMAIR come to mind. So its NO unreasonable to expect more money to fly MORE passengers.

If you are in day three of indoc and spending time on here...dont blame anyone but yourself.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks for that tidbit, Herc. Still, I reserve the right to have an aircraft preference for whatever reason I see fit. If someone else wants to make it into a whinefest, it's their problem, not mine. I don't think my simply saying I want to fly the 175 is a basis for lies, bogus fantasies and mischaracterizations of what I said. If someone at Republic is thinks they should be mad about Republic's contract, again that's their problem. As for blaming anyone... blaming for what? Is spending 30 minutes on this site going to harm me in some way?
