First off, I said nothing resembling "turning my nose up" at anything smaller than an E175. That's your spin, and it's not accurate nor representative of what I said. And for your information, I've gotten past the love affair with the big shiny jet during my 1,100 hours flying the E145. Next, it's industry standard for regionals to pay FOs the same to fly any jet. So in reality, your beef shouldn't be with me, it should be with the industry standard. I accept the standard and realize it's not going to change. Apparently you don't. With regards to the contract... geez, I'm in day 3 of Basic Indoc. Would it be OK with you if I concentrate on training? I've gotten an overview of the contract from a friend here, and it seems reasonable. As time permits, I'll look more closely. Now with regards to getting angry during contract negotiations, be my guest. Whether or not you think we should be paid more to fly the 175 as an FO is irrelevant. It's not going to happen, so get used to it. Plus, getting angry clouds one's judgment. Frankly, I think that's the case with you here in this thread. I merely mentioned I'd like to fly the 175... if my personal preference makes you mad, it's your problem, not mine.
Oh yeah, we're in contract negotiations, which means there is something we can do about it. Learn the contract before you get online and you'll be in good shape.
We fly for a good regional. That's about like saying we're the most polished turd. I really do hope that you curb your enthusiasm a little. I'm happy to be here but like anything else it can, and should be better. I'm just tired of hearing people say how cool it is to fly a 170. Flying a cessna is cool, let's all get paid better.

3/25 RW FO's moved into S5 training effective 4/24, keeping 3/25 seniority. All 4/21 FO's terminated. All other classes cancelled.

This is just a really tough time as you can already tell. Delta and NWA recently reported a combined 10.5 billion dollar loss. About 6.5 of that comes from Delta. United reported over a 500 million dollar loss recently. US Airways also just posted a 236 million dollar loss. Continental reported an 80 million dollar 1Q loss. All of these airlines of course are carriers that Republic flies for.
It seems that Republic is trying to be very proactive about this whole deal, so I'm still pretty optimistic that classes will resume this summer. The good news is that they still need people. But then again, everyone is losing an arm and a leg right now due to high oil prices. I noticed just recently too that my plan b's have stopped hiring for the time being.

I've got a 5/14 interview. Think it will get put off?
What is your plan B? Mine is starting to sound like, "Hi, welcome to Wal-Mart...."
