it is their job to read and understand contracts to see what kind of money is to be made and how much. they read the contracts we have with delta, northwest, and continental and saw "little or no exit opportunity" for the majors to get out of our contracts.
so all i am saying is that pinnacle is in a very good position right now. i really feel the only thing that will keep us from groing like crazy is a pilot contract. and for all i care if we don't have one i would rather walk than get new flying.

Anyone could be at risk. But, here's the one glaring fact out there... PNCL is the only regional with contracts at both NWA and DELTA. If you were the new mgt. team knowing you will have consolidation issues everywhere, wouldn't you think having one arena where virtually no consolidation would have to occur is a plus? The only neg. I can think of w/ pncl is the negotiations on a new pilot contract. Other than that, I think pncl is relatively safe (relative to any other reg. affected).

Not so!
The DOJ can respond to this and approve it within 30 days.
Sadly, the vast majority of mergers, regardless of industry type, is bad for the employees and the consumer.

Not going to happen. that question was answered in the webcast this morning. It looks like the DC9s are going to be moved around the system to fill the 100 seat market.

30 minutes into the Q&A gives an interesting insight to Mesaba and Compass. He directly states shifting from contract carriers to wholly owned. "the very best operators and cost structure" the shared functions of compass and mesaba will increase. I think it's a good sign. Then again I am one of the few pilots who can look at a glass and see it as half full.
