Bose QC2 with the u-fly-mike adapter.. Costs around 5 hun-doh... I wear the Dave clamps. h10.13.4... works fine. But I really think that for long days the QC2 combo would be the best.. especially if you commute.
adios s how are the batteries on those things? I guess you can always get rechargeable... I have the Bose X and I kinda wish I had the QC2 w/ u-fly mic so I could use the QC2s to listen to music. |
Lightspeed Mach I. I used it in the Dash during my time at PDT and loved it.

I went to radio shack and bought a stereo to mono adapter (female stereo with male mono) and its worked like a dream ever since! Unfortunately, now that I am holding more senior lines, the senior CAs arent all that fond of headsets. ;).
Hope this info helps any of you who are as puzzled as I was! |

Seems a lot of people have good things to say about the QC2 with the UflyMike. Does anybody know if I would have problems from Piedmont with that head-set? I don't wanna get something I can't use as anyone could imagine. lol Seems it is the most practical of them all, and for a pretty good price.
I like the Telex 850 as well, seems like a nice headset- is there a plug in for music on it? Which headset provides better ANR, the Clarity Aloft or the Telex850? Anybody else have the Clarity Aloft? The Clarity Aloft looks pretty comfortable, its advertised on most sites for like $525, and it does have a music plug-in as well, but seems it might not block out noise that well? Then again with the Telex you don't need batteries, which is awesome. hmm |
I use a telex 850 and most of the captains I fly with use something similar. The Dash cockpit isn't too noisy so I've gotten used to using the telex and can say that I prefer it over my bose because its smaller and fits better in my flight case.

So what kind of headset is good as a pax on the Dash?! LoL ;)

I would be weary of the QC2 in a turboprop. Compared to a full style headseat (lightspeed bose or DCs) the QC2 just doesn't have the same decibel reductions in the lower frequencies. I personally use the LS 30-3Gs that have great decibel reductions and I wouldn't want any less in the saab.

I can wear my david clarks all day and they don't get uncomfortable. I have the gel earcups and use earplugs. The earplugs make a huge improvement, just have to turn the audio up a lot.

Telex 750's on the Q400 and they are great. I have to put INT to max, but other than that they are light weight simple and cheap. Perfect for the Q Dash
