AE Jet Course

Don't have any info or confirmation other than the rumors I read on eaglelounge.com about a recruiter telling an Eagle pilot it will be canceled and the mins will go back to maybe 500TT.....
I got the email on April 25th with the Captain's board approval and confirmation of the jet transition course....and I haven't heard anything since so I'm interested to see if it is canceled what they'll do.

People who post here need to realize you are influencing new fos an how they start their careers. First off, there is already a good string of posts on this. Second, if they haven't already stopped the RAA course and they offer you the choice go to flight safety. Despite Wmugrad's opinion there is definitely an erj course. The flight safety course is an emb - 145 level D sim. The RAA is a crj ftd. You tell me which one is more benificial. If you plan to erj go to flight safety. Finally, there are no hard requirements to be sent to the RJO program. If they do all the better. All I know is that so far the RJO course at flight safety grads have a 100% pass rate in the eagle training. One of the maybe 2 RAA grads failed out of our training class. I would do it over again if I had the chance. Plus it is another 10 hours twin time and 24 level d to get you ready for eagle. It did not hurt, only help. If i am wrong on any of my info, correct me, but I don't think I am.

You make yourself sound big and bad like you know it all AEFO. I hadn't heard about the ERJ course before so I WAS wrong on that. Doesn't mean that you have to tell me to shut up. Maybe you should go back to school and learn some manners... You should also get your stats right because RAA has had 25 guys go through the course and has had 2 people fail, not 1/2 of them...
Just as you tell me not to post things that I don't know about why don't you keep your fingers off the keys about things you don't know about.
There IS an ERJ disregard my last post on that... THANKS

Sorry WMU I should not have said what I said about your post. As far as the RAA failure I said "one of maybe two RAA grads failed out of OUR class." As in there were maybe two in our class. I am sure that if American Eagle was to use RAA, they would send more than two guys there. Thats all I meant. I did not mean that 50% of thier grads failed. I am sure it was just a fluke with this guy. Nothing against the instruction at RAA. I am sure there are great instructors there as you have found out. Even doing the RAA course would be benificial over doing nothing.

I've got an interview on the 21st with AE and am wondering what the cut-off is hours wise for them sending you to a "RJ Course."
On of the other instructors here was just hired at 500-something and didn't have to do the course but I'm only at 425TT and 160Multi. Course it might be a nice into...
Are there any ERJ RJ Courses or is everything like the ATP CRJ course?
Thanks!

just interviewed on wend. with 490/80 and no mention of the jet course word is on the street that they are no longer doing it. Kinda sad it was one of the reasons I chose eagle however I loved the company and I pretty sure I can make it through training without it. Just got the captains review board email too and no mention of the jet course. Eagle Lounge is also reporting that it is canceled. Good Luck and remember they trained people without RJ courses for many years before and no other regional is going to give you one so just study even harder.

Come on!!!

As you were saying AEFO this course goes in depth with systems, and limitations and is great for any lower time guy. We will be getting about 40 hrs in the CRJ sim and have very experienced instructors teaching us. It's giving us a view into a jet cockpit, checklists, flows, profiles and FMS before we get to Eagle. Which I feel is way better than just having 800-1000 hrs as an instructor and going straight to Eagles training. And I'm not saying that 800-1000 hr guys can't do it because before all this low time stuff that's how it was and it was fine (imho).
At the end of the course we'll have a PC, and a checkride with an oral that we have to pass before we can even get to Eagle.
Anyway, sorry bout the attitude earlier. I hope you enjoy Eagle, I look forward to it.

Hey guys, I finally have to weigh in on this thread. As a 21 year AE Check Airman on the ERJ (both IOE and Sim), I would advise anyone with "lower time" that is offered an opportunity to go through one of these programs to take advantage of it. Both programs produce good results. I'm speaking from the experience of having given the sim checkrides. I just did 2 F/O rides on Friday. Both passed, but the pilot that had been through a transition course with lower time did much better than the "higher" time CFI. It's the "1000 HR CFIs" that are having trouble getting through our sim course. Regardless of your background, experience, or "options" I wish you the best of luck.

I certainly don't disagree on the value of the course. It is a real blessing for low timers. However, considering your position, is AE suspending this course as mentioned earlier?
Thanks in advance.
