The majority of passengers are much more interested in schedule, price, and getting there on time with their luggage than service. While folks may gawk at the "a la carte" pricing, it actually makes sense. If you've got one guy who WANTS an aisle seat, make them pay for it. Otherwise buy a ticket and sit where there is a seat. I kinda like how SWA is doing it - you buy a ticket to get on the flight, if you want a specific seat pay more.

Same with baggage. People pack too much already. I don't agree with charging for the first suitcase however. I'm hoping they'll drop it soon.

Neither do I, and I hope so too.

Since the airlines obviously can't enforce the 1 carry on and 1 personal item rule, they should INSTEAD charge for EVERY piece of carry on baggage that goes over that rule. There would be MORE revenue garnered. Imagine how easy it would now be to JS when you get on last and are hard pressed to find an overhead space for your bag.

Most of them think SKYW could some how buy XJT and then get around this, even though they are operating under no statutes that would let them "bend" the rules.

I guess most guys aren't used to seeing an RJ pilot group with merger scope so bulletproof.

Well here comes the cockroach Mesa with some spare ERJ's. Ornstein will make some cheap ass deal for United to take the Delta planes and settle with Delta out of court for some $. This s%#t happened after 9/11 and here we go again. Hopefully oil will keep dropping like it is and this all can be avoided.

Never happened to me during four years of weekly commutes. Some guys check the scab list of course.

As a mesa guy, I got my butt chewed by a CAL CA once. He actually suggested that I get a job at SKW instead.

I have had one or two DAL guys who wanted to educate me on the union, but they were nice about it.

I have also had a lot of mainline guys tell me that SKW is better off without alpa...and these guys WERE alpa.

There are a lot of different sentiments out there.

UAX is a rather profitable arm of UAL as a whole. Makes sense to do more of whats actually making you money in this industry rather than what is bleeding you out.
