Yes, they want 40 of our pilots to fly their 145's when they transition there pilots over to the EMB-190's.

They have heard good things about our pilot group, as well as heard a rumor we were "over-staffed" , so our company is offering Leaves of Absence for those that would like to fly out of Sweden for a year

See my above post, we don't have the EXACT details yet on pay. PARC was offering 4000 GBP for the FO seat. But after taxes and all that, probably around 18-2000 take home. I know, sounds like a a lot. But if you go to the UK, it's not much. Like I said, they mentioned something about accommodations, but we still don't know for sure.

Job share will be whatever our MEC negotiates with management. But our FA's have had it for a while. You find another pilot, senior pilot bids the line. Then you two split it up, usually at the senior pilots discretion. Two pilots "share" ONE line fo flying. Of course, there may be a cap on pick up, etc. Works good for guys that may not need the money due to sugar mommas, other income streams, etc.

Dude, it's NOT Sweden although I believe I saw that on their route map. I believe the crew bases are Manchester and Birmingham. PARC was also offering Exeter.

And yeah, U.K. chicks can be hot too, especially when they say the word naughty. But it wouldn't kill some of them to make a trip to the dentist.

As a result of this, they STILL need to staff what 145's are still there. They have gone through various crew leasing/contract agencies to fill the short term demand they are having on the 145. The first I saw on the job was through PARC Aviation a few months ago saying they needed EMB145 CA's and FO's for a short term contract in the UK. Of course, they preferred EU/JAA license holders but stated they would accept FAA tickets as well.

Now, as that relates to XJT. ANOTHER contract agency (not PARC) has contacted XJT to see if any of our pilots would be interested in the flying, needing the stated 40 pilots. We, the ordinary line pilots, are still pretty much in the dark as to the EXACT details of the contract. It vaguely mentioned something about "accommodations", "rostering", etc. But like I said, we STILL don't have ALL the details involved in the contract. A big one being the compensation offered, as well as the penalty if the contract is broken early by the pilot. Another big thing is how they are going to handle the JAA validations, or the temporary validations, right to work/abode. etc.

To be clear, FlyBe IS NOT HIRING XJT pilots. Besides, do you think that FlyBe, being a BALPA carrier would allow that?

http://www.balpa.org.uk/intranet/Join-BALPA/index.htm

Who knows, maybe they will. But if they DID, you would probably be required to go through their own selection process, as well as do a JAA conversion for those not already holding an unrestricted JAA certificate. Yep, you can do a short course if you have certain criteria met. But it's still a bit of a PITA process.

Again, to be clear, NO XJT pilots are getting hired at FlyBe at this time, nor for this short term contract. The pilots that are going to be going will be employed by the contract agency and then leased to FlyBe.
Yeah, I'm aware of all of it. For the sake of an XJT furlough conversation I thought my version would suffice rather than a 6 paragraph, 344 word explanation. Sorry, I was feeling a little lazy.

Good, because in the process I just diffused about what would probably be 10 pages of thread drift over the usual FAA vs. JAA crap and everything that goes along with it.

Considering that there are 2793 currently on the seniority list and with the fleet plan of 245 aircraft, I don't see more than 343 furloughs. But with Early Outs, COLAs, FlyBe, attrition, No-Fly Lines, 75 hour line divisor, and Job Shares I could see that number reduced considerably.
