I do work at RAH, I'm on the S5 CERT..
I'm an ex Skyway guy...I was just curious to see what is going on here at the company and wondering if I should be looking at other employers just in case we do furlough...By the way I'm on the bottom of the seniority list with only about 100 below me..

Thanks for all the info guys...
In that case, I highly recommed you check out republicpilots.org and local747.org for your intel. You will get a much more detailed and frank answer in those places than on an open forum.

B1900,
we all saw the video.. what did you expect to see here versus RP.org? Do you think we know more than you do? What are you 16?

easy now; If I were in his position being maybe new to the company and in a low seniority number I might feel the same way.
Course that Doesnt mean I'd make a post in a public forum saying the "F" word when it just isn't happening yet...

B1900 if you have 100 below you should be fine. Crew Planning came to STL today where questions were asked and very frank answers were given. You still might want to look around for other job opportunities. Right now our world, aviation, is balancing on the tip of a sword and tomorrows oil swing could make or break.

B1900,

Air things like this on RPpilots.org. There are at least 5 threads that discuss this, or end up resulting in this discussion.

My take: It's contract time. WH is trying to scare the newbies. We might not hire for a while but with the aircraft we're getting on S5 there shouldn't be an loss of jobs IF they properly staff each base. Right now we're very thin on the S5 side. I'm fairly low on the seniority here but if they were to carry out the "f" word they would really be shooting themselves in the foot.

3 certs with FOs not being allowed to switch between will cause hell on earth if thy try to F. Would cost them an arm and a leg too though all they need to do is FIRE out of seniority to the guys that aren't off probation. Which they can do. Glad I'm off the chopping block. Here's to hoping to upgrade within a year!

None of the F9 airplanes have been sold, two have transitioned over there to cover for S5 planes going into C-Check, no growth. (They were former S5 airplanes)

I would imagine we will see more displacements from RW to S5 before we see furloughs.

However I have no doubt we will furlough if things continue to get worse. This goes for any airline.

I don't think WH was trying to put a shot across the bow for negotiations. No amount of "giveback" from the pilot group in terms of a contract would correct the problem of an overstaffed airline.

Now if we were understaffed on ALL certificates and that was posted, then I might agree.

i am in the loelw
1400s on the rah list and I am reenrolling in classes this fall to get another bachelor, Im not giving up just yet but just getting prepared. In 80 numbers frombthe most jr captain but I dont expect to upgrade for at least another two years! Mark my words we will furlogh 100 to 200 by the end of summer. And the really sad thing is they will do it illegally out of seniority just like the saab guys in 2001. Good luck

Ok ok ok, someone please explain this to me. How can they get away with furloughing out of seniority? I know they tried to upgrade out of sequence, but you guys won in the end.

So pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't the teamsters have a pretty good leg to stand on for legal action if they try to get away with it????

Someone please educate me on this, cause it just doesn't seem possible to me!
