RAH to FURLOUGH?
#1
Saw the video on the company website, and was just curious if anyone that currently work at RAH is aware of this, and if so is this true?
If we do furlough, how many pilots would it be?
Any insight on this matter, please do not hesitate to share with us, your fellow wingman...

I'm confused do you work at RAH? Your position says BE1900D along with the pic in your avatar but you say "If we do furlough". Just curious.
Will RAH furlough. Who knows. Regardless of what the company says we aren't "FAT" on pilots. They've offered a few COLAs but even then I'm still sitting on a 90hr line I can't get rid of. I think they might regret having offered them.
The company's position is they have the CRJ's going away that they'll have to compensate for. We also have the 135s for DAL that are suppose to go away yet DAL is still using them. When the 135s are sent packing they'll be replaced with 170/175s.
Personally I feel that WH's podcast is mostly a scare tactic for contract negotiations. Nothing works better than spreading some FUD around. Things will most likely take a few steps before furloughs are handed out. COLAs will be offered company wide etc. We haven't seen that. If they do furlough there's no telling how many. Rumors are there will be training classes in August but those are nothing more than rumors.
If I were on the bottom I'd be worried and actively searching for other gigs just as a safety precaution. If we do furlough I'd look for it to be more towards the end of the year as more CRJs come offline. IMHO I don't expect us to however.

the message from witherlow was that at the end of this time next year we will have 15 or so fewer airplanes than needed. that pretty much comes from the whole F9 contract. the biggest issue is do they retrain and properly follow the contract and retrain the crj guys to 145's and 170's or do they just fire out of seniority like they did with the saabs. if i was a guy in the bottom 150 or so i would be worried specially if i was on the bottom of the crjs. but as far as anything happening anytime soon i think if we dont lose any more flying they wont be letting anyone go.

I do work at RAH, I'm on the S5 CERT..
I'm an ex Skyway guy...I was just curious to see what is going on here at the company and wondering if I should be looking at other employers just in case we do furlough...By the way I'm on the bottom of the seniority list with only about 100 below me..
Thanks for all the info guys...
