Please tell me you're kidding! I thought you guys had a great relationship with the reverend and his team?

That's unethical in so many levels, I don't even know where to begin. Best of luck to you guys, I hope they do the right thing.

So pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't the teamsters have a pretty good leg to stand on for legal action if they try to get away with it????

Someone please educate me on this, cause it just doesn't seem possible to me!
Because for the first year you are on probation and not protected.

It sucks, but you can be terminated at any time, for any reason.

They did this after 9/11 when they needed to park the Saabs. There were 125 pilots that were terminated. Many, if not all, were senior to the jet guys.

The union fought it and lost.

I understand the concept of being a first year f/o on probation as most of us were there at one point in our careers, but using that as a cost cutting measure....and out of seniority.....???

That's not very christian! I'm sorry but I'm in shock that a management team would do something so immoral.

The irony is that I always thought it was of great advantage to your company and you guys to have multiple certificates under the same umbrella.........so much for that.

Best of luck all the same to you guys, I hope you guys keep everyone.

BB can spew all the moral christian BS he wants. The fact remains that their actions are what counts.

Check out our "Guiding Principals" Republic Airways

My favorite is the first one.

First year you pay dues but aren't protected since you are on probation. The company can "no longer require your employment" for any reason they see fit. With the massive hiring boom that has taken place there's no reason they'll ever have to furlough. They can just FIRE the FOs on the certificates they need since there are plenty moved around.

Hey guys I'm all about optimism but yall are forgetting one thing. If a codeshare goes into BK then all bets are off just like with Frontier. If AMR and United go BK, though I don't see how United could really survive it, they can simply cancel all contracts. CAL's recent deal with XJT could be incentive for them to declare BK and drop CHQ. I know we'd all like to think we're safe but lets not kid ourselves. It's time to just kick back and watch the show.

IIRC, the Saab guys got their jobs back eventually. Wasn't there for it, so not really 100% sure though.

As far as that sort of treament, welcome to RAH. Family values so long as they don't affect the bottom line.
