PDT News and Rumors

two years: 44 airframes with older 100s about to time out. no phx too expensive to acquire new airframes. 300s return to lessor 3-4 years and remaining 100s then sold off to provide 'liquidity' for airways.that's the current trajectory.

Personally, I believe that a merger with PSA is still coming. The precedent is there with the slow consolidation of every regional US Airways has ever purchased. PSA is making some, albeit, slow progress on their contract. PDT's talks are stalled. My prediction:
As soon as PSA signs off on their new CBA, which will be a cheaper contract then PDT's current one. We will merge. The Dash will slowly be phased out completely. And US Airways will be in a better position to sell off or liquidate it's wholly owned liability under one certificate should such a thing become necessary. This move eliminates any need to negotiate a new contract with the PDT pilot group.

From: Ask scheduling
Same questions as every week and same SBY non-answers as every week. Nothing to get excited about. Only interesting one was someone asking why do we have out station bases when all the flights are RJ's in and out of them. answer: We strive to balance our schedule and domicile structure. We also recognize the importance of domicile stability and have done our best to maintain the structure we currently have in place. ie... be quiet and push on time.

Anyone know of people currently flying for PDT that are getting ready to jump ship? I have heard rumors of some people getting letters to start at Eagle. Curious as to how many and if they have been given class dates. Seems like that is the only way there might be more recalls.
