I wonder from that description however if this is his first airline mediation? I guess its not arbitration though, so he can't really screw things up too bad.
I believe he's working with the Continental mechanics in their mediation currently. He took over that mediation from another mediator who retired. From what I've been able to dig up online it appears that this could be his first pilot mediation. I'm hopeful since he's from the union side of the table that he could be beneficial, but only time will tell.

Where did this wild rumor come from? If PDT is not getting new aircraft, PSA will not either.... Nothing good happens at PSA is a rule of thumb.... I'm pretty sure the same is happening at PDT as well.... Plus it does not seem Mesa is losing any planes... So how would PSA or any other carrier gain 70 plus seat flying with the current USairways contract being in violation?

Simple, USAPA will sign off on scope relief because if they don't the 900 flying goes out the door......again. I think this is all a contingency pending Mesa's survival. If they go tits up, someone will have to operate the 900s. I think Flannery and Parker boy want to keep them in house this time and I would venture to guess so does USAPA. If they don't grant scope relief then the 900 flying will get farmed out to the lowest bidder which there is already an RFP out on.

USAPA will not give any scope relief. If the 900s in question are Mesa's then they will not need to.

I love how the PDT news and rumors thread is so dry that we include PSA rumors.

All rumors, no news, except the mediator news which at this point isn't that interesting. PDT will be long gone by the time mediation runs its course.

Unless that post somehow makes a PDT pilot upset on here, I doubt anyone from PSA is taking offense.... Sounds more like the poster knows that if you cannot secure funds for some new Q400's or props for PDT why would PSA get such... It simply makes no sense to start such rumors up....

You are demonstrating your own fundamental lack of information. If Mesa owned the 900's they fly for US Airways you would be correct. But in fact US Airways owns the 900's and has Mesa contracted to operate them. PSA almost had them once, but they would not sign off on a blended rate. So...they went to guess who!

If Mesa goes away, the 900's will stay on property....guaranteed!

Which seems very unlikely

Meh, I won't go as far as unlikely, I'll say 50/50 at this point. If DAL wins their lawsuit, which does seem to be in their favor, bye bye Mag.
