Unlike the flow through, which may or may not be a contractual right (depending on what the courts decide), the preferential hiring is something that we have no right to, and that is offered at the whim of mainline. Hopefully they will decide to continue it when hiring resumes, as they indicated they intended to do at the May PHX Crew News; they are, however, under no actual obligation to do so.

Yes but for our fearless leader to say that there never was a flow through when in fact there was is quite Orwellian. Perhaps they're just trying to forget what we had so we quit asking for it in the future, you know, hedging their bets.

he went farther than simply denying there being flowthrough...SF's words:

"We've never had an actual "Preferential Hiring Agreement" with Airways, although the last time they were hiring pilots, working for PSA or PDT was a big help in the interview and hiring process." (Ask Piedmont, 14 Nov)

Hope someone has a copy of the FIL that they posted back in '07 about it. Truth has never been a PDT management strong point.

I believe there are agreements for maintaining DOH for TRAVEL only when its done within the USAirways Group. I've had staff that worked for me at an EN station that maintained their US DOH (but not relative seniority in the station) and we've had transfers back and forth between EN/JS.

Keep in mind. PDT has a sprawling ground handling operation that's growing by the day. This could just be a recruiter for that side of the business.

My question is, when is the next recall class? Anyone heard anything?
