that's hogwash, I'm at PDT in the mainline pool and nobody has gone yet, we're not expecting to go until march. the last PDT guy that went to mainline was back in april or may of '08. further it's my understanding that the first bunch of true mainline newhires started this past monday. there are 55 in the mainline pool 12 of which are PDT, unsure about PSA, anybody out there know?... it's my guess that mainline will take the PDT people last since we're short captains. and PDT is really draging it's feet to get a class going.

Only 2 went past time for a total of 18 hired through the preferential hire program....

There were only about 15 pref-hire folks from PDT to mainline in early 2008. The first 10 of them (66%) completed all training and were line qualified on the A320 and B737. So anyone who might have heard that they can't work an FMS would be perpetuating a flat-out lie. The remaining 5 or so guys completed basic indoc, but each of them continued on to complete different parts of systems, simulator and type ride, and IOE on the E190 before all of them were furloughed. If any of the PDT pref-hire guys coming back to mainline from furlough are having trouble in training, I would guess you're talking about a very small number (as in 1 or 2) of those last 5 guys who never finished IOE.

Is this due to the Mesaba arrival? So does this go with the rumor of increased PHL flying at least?

I think so, they also pretty much squashed a PHL base.. I think I need someone to explain why we have a "Chief Pilot" DJ in PHL.... wouldnt he be more valuable in oh I don't know LGA or any of our current bases?

I think someone told me why he is in phl a long time ago but it slips my mind.

Ask Piedmont is a joke. The things they post on there in reply to the questions make it seem like they think they are talking to a bunch of gullible retards, and think of us as such.

Same answers every damn week. Might as well make one long answer for any question they are asked.

There is no such thing as advancement in this company, you can only move backwards. The only movement there is, is due to people leaving for normal companies with a future. It's only a matter of time before this mother folds anyways..

Call me a debby downer, but it's what I learned working here.
