Same answers every damn week. Might as well make one long answer for any question they are asked.

There is no such thing as advancement in this company, you can only move backwards. The only movement there is, is due to people leaving for normal companies with a future. It's only a matter of time before this mother folds anyways..

Call me a debby downer, but it's what I learned working here.
Debbie, you are sooooooo hot! LOL

6:47pm and still no secondary bid on the website. Glad to see the company is on top of things.

"THE SECONDARY AWARD WILL BE POSTED BY 5 PM ON JANUARY 11, 2011."

The Association should be grieving that, then... the permanent bid/award schedule is contractual.

Just wondering about your bid process.... So when is your ROUND 1 lines open to bid on for the following month? Then when is that awarded and then when does your ROUND 2 lines open?

PSA we seem to be way behind here..... Our Round one opens on the 10th and closes on the 15th. Not awarded until then 18th. Round 2 opens the 18th closes the 21st and is not awarded until the 24th.... Many months I had no clue what I'm doing the first week of the next month even a week ahead.... Just curious how PDT does their bids etc...

This 2-round bid is a permanent (base) bid, not a monthly schedule bid.

For monthly schedules, the bidding schedule is:

Bid posted: 2nd Friday of the month
Bid due: Following Tuesday
Initial Award awarded: 3rd Friday
48-hour Period to request changes: Friday-Sunday
Final Award Posted: Wednesday (Reserve Lines also posted at this time)
Reserve Award Posted: 4th Friday

This is sometimes moved 1 week earlier depending on the month. More concretely, here's the bid schedule for Februay awards:

Distribute Regular Bids: Friday, January 7 by 1700
Regular Bids & VAC Changes Due: Tuesday, January 11 by 1700
Initial Award Posted: Friday, January 14 by 1700
(Hard Lines)
48 Hour Period Closes: Sunday, January 16 by 1700
Final Award Posted: Wednesday, January 19 by 1700
(Hard Lines & BU Lines)
Distribute Reserve Bids: Wednesday, January 19 by 1700
Reserve Bids Returned: Friday, January 21 by 1200
Reserve Final Award Posted: Friday, January 21 by 2200

one more question... LGA seems to be the easiest place to commute from ABQ out of all the bases.. what are the chances of getting it out of training?

Slim to none. There are currently at least 4 people who are looking into LGA who cannot get it, and LGA is also supposed to lose 5 lines of flying in March or April, so that doesn't help the cause.

Unless most of the upgrades in February will be from LGA then depending on how many, maybe there is a bigger chance, but I wouldn't count on it as of now.

damnit......

now it just dawned on me... how junior are harrisburg or salisbury? I have family in DC I could stay with and in northern WV. I know its a bit of a drive, but that would save $ on a crashpad and wouldnt have to commute back to ABQ as much.

MDT and SBY are typically the most junior bases for the FO's yet MDT is VERY senior for CA's (the most junior CA hardline holder for MDT was hired in Feb 1989).

If you plan on commuting from NM, I think it will get old after about the first week. As a reserve FO, you will have no more than 10 days off a month. Your schedule will typically be 6 on 2 off, with one 4 day break a month.
