If you think AQP is bad, PSA had TWO classes a few months ago with a 100% washout rate. My understanding is you get six lessons. If you don't get in that time, it's bye bye!

With such a high washout rate, they probably need a tougher sim ride during the interview. Better to weed them out before they spend a few thousand dollars on them before sending them home.

......or hire guys with some experience who won't have to hang on to the tail during those 6 sims.

We're at a point now where newbies need to think hard whether they're ready for the airlines. In the past you could find a job with a prior failure. I don't think that's the case anymore.

Very true, but how else would PDT get anyone else with experience and time to even show up to an interview? They seem desperate

They could start by negotiating in good faith, raising FO pay, improving QOL, stop crapping on the reserve guys, ad nauseum. Just a thought.

Shucks, if I'd just stuck around on reserve and hated myself for another year or two, I might have almost upgraded! ;-) Glad to see some movement over there though. Wierd seeing some of my old friends sitting in the wrong seat!

I am interested to see what Piedmont and the FAA do about the people without the PIC minimums.

Anyone know if they had to bypass FOs for upgrade and move down to more junior guys because of the 250 p.i.c. min? I noticed there's a gap in the seniority numbers that were awarded (jumped 5 numbers from 270 to 275). I'd expect gaps like that in the senior ranks for those who are pdt lifers, but these are all mid-07 guys.
