There is no doubt that PDT and others mentioned have a lot to offer as far as the regionals are concerned. However $24/hr for the ERJ to start is financial suicide for many of the "would be" takers. 12 months does go by pretty fast, but I can't imagine someone with a family living on that (or even a single person) in PHL without making a lot of sacrifices. It may work for the 20-30 year old age bracket, but not for the rest. I can see new hire pay being forced up to around $40/hr based on demand and lack of supply. The hourly rate might not be $40, but the add-ons (sign-in bonus etc) will equal that IMHO. And yes, the airlines will still make a profit! They have more to lose by canceling flights due to lack of crews.

What happens if there's any disruption in the country that brings airline movement to a stop? Now you're working a job that only affords you bread and ramen. I don't know why "flow" justifies such low wages. They can still pay you like professionals even with flow.

If something happens that stops movement over the next 10 years you'll have much bigger things to worry about than year 1 pay at a regional

What about it? If you got stuck, which is unlikely you are looking at 35 or nearly 60K at min guarantee in year 2...which most will be getting far in excess of due to work rules. We have a lot to offer in addition to pay rates and I expect that to continue for quite some time.

Forget the jet part. I fly the same 50 people in a DH3 to some of the same places you do for even less than those e145 CA rates. My responsibility is no less and the airplane is arguably more complex (I've flown both) so I guess nobody here wins right? I'll quit tomorrow! Hehe no I won't, I like it at PDT.

A second year 145 CA would make aprox $68,000 not including per diem. Including would be around $73,400. Will pay aprox $100/month for amazing healthcare (best in the industry).
Second year pay. I wish it was 100k but hey, it isn't.
