these things are mostly true
there are a few good schedulers that do "care" at least as much as they can given the situation
but new or inexperienced ones don't, nor do the mgmt types in charge of scheduling(schedules) including the head of the company

in general i'd say the group is 'cautiously optimistic, but guarded' at least as much as cornered dogs can be(think powder keg)

The schedules are absolutely 100% terrible in most cases. ZERO interest in making them better by the management team, mostly the old guard led by SF and GB who will hopefully retire soon.

Lots of guys commute and don't have a problem and the hotels help a lot... Obviously.

Why is this? Is it cost/efficiency issue?

Envoy's not alone in this? Most our DFW EMJ flying is 4 on 2 off, 58-70 credit and min days off. Is PDT better or worse than that?

Embraer guys barely have a schedule here. We really dont know how that is going to pan out yet. PHL base for the dash had the best lines last month ranging from 15-11 days off. Its a regional man...what did you think it was gonna be? The company is still changing and adapting to a new president and growth. Once caught up on hiring it will change imo.

Little better, 95% of our lines are at least 80 hours.

GB is on record saying some pretty nasty things about the pilots at Piedmont. Us line pilots famously had an FO that on a weekend off, built lines for his base, by hand that we're outrageously superior to the crap GB puts out. GB is allowed to do this because SF lets him... Sad. We're SO close to being an amazing airline but they'd rather have this one little piece of control to keep the misery hanging over us.

That is disappointing. I haven't started yet so I'm not familiar with who those initials are referring to, however, the complaints about the schedules are what I'm least looking forward to experiencing first hand. Looking forward to it otherwise.

Perhaps the new leadership at the top and his background may lead to the needed changes to make Piedmont that next step better.
