Not sure where you are getting your info.....but we (gate agents and rampers) do get randomly screened....not only when going through to the ramp area but when coming from the ramp to the main terminal as well as random checks while on the ramp in-between flights.

Just an FYI

So long as this is possible I'm afraid none of us are safe.
That's right, if the CA starts screaming 'Allah is Great' you can be sure I'm going to have to knock him unconscious very quickly. TSA is fine it's just that I don't understand why they have so many issues with pilots, were background checked and we're just trying to do our jobs, why do they make it so difficult.

The TSA is far from fine. Their overzealous Gestapo searches on civilian pilots and are unnecessary and they know it. They also know that pilots will easily co-operate with them and will toe the line as, by the inherent nature of our vocation, we are trained to follow rules. Essentially it's all about control.

Anyone that has been in the system for a while knows how to get ANYTHING through into the system, CrewPass might make it easier...but TSA needs to spot check pax, not people protecting pax from wx, mx, ground!

How about we do that to the TSA? I mean if anyone is an "insider" who could do harm, who better than someone from the TSA.

Who is watching the TSA?

Ive been thinking of asking to see the TSA agents ID when they hound me in CMH. Im so sick of these jagoffs who are completley retarded and joke on the employee bus about steeling peoples stuff and making people late for their flights. They are almost just as bad as the terrorists themselves.

A quote I heard attributed to a pilot getting 'the treatment' while going through security- "I can do more damage faster sitting in an airplane stark naked than three terrorists sitting in back with weapons." Or something like that. I think he was disciplined, for being honest. Honestly folks, if any member of the flight crew is intent on causing destruction, TSA screening won't do one thing to detect or stop it. It is bogus and meaningless to screen pilots, and is only to make someone else feel good.

Lets not forget that crash axe. They can pull my pocket knife but let me sit up there with a nice and fat, single handed, serrated axe with a pic on the other side of it.

Lets be honest there are people who are still trying to do us harm and random inspections do serve as a deterrent. And if you think all of the pilots out there are innocent and would never try brining anything through that they shouldn’t you’re only fooling yourself, and no I am not referring to nail clippers.
On a really unpopular note I am not a big fan of CrewPass either, it’s another weak point that people with bad intentions will try to exploit.
This guy is clearly NOT A PILOT!!! Looks like the TSA information commitee has come onto this site. This was the first post from this user and I hope it will be the last.

Quick ? b4 bed time here .
We have avenues to file complaints with TSA yes ?
So if a TSA gets carried away with his or her duties then make a note and file a complaint ,just remember to get name and number .
Just my 2 cents .
They do this because they can and what does not surprise is the lack of an uproar from pax and crews ,if this had been done b4 9/11 ppl would have raised hell about this sort of treatment .
But then again its all about FEELING good .
