Latest and greatest. The dreaded displacement of 225 pilots from a base closure in Boston has been "delayed" another month since the company has determined that they can't schedule effectively with the base closed.... yet.

I don't see where your loyalty to the mainlines is coming from. If you think for a second that they have any loyalty to you, then you're drinking the koolaid, not me. Eagle, comair, compass, etc. will be sold off in a second if their parent companies think it will benefit them. Ask the guys from Xjet if they have any leftover loyalty from when they were owned by Continental. I don't know if the industry will be better or worse for this in the long run, but the days of the wholly owned regional are ending.
As far as working for a regional that abuses its pilots- At RAH, maybe, but not any more or less than you are being abused at your wholly owned regional. We have good work rules and competitive pay. If in the past RAH has low balled a contract, I'm confident in saying that it hasn't been at the expense of its pilots.
I understand your "viewpoint", enough said.

i think by just getting out there and being seen they will continue to attract applicants...people will see a regional out there at a time like this and be like wow they must be stable or something...this way when the industry comes back up they don't have to compete with all the other regionals at once to attract applicants...
this also means that sometime in the next 10 years i won't be at the very bottom of the list anymore...

What don't you understand about the fact that Eagle had this stuff 11 YEARS ago.... so, you finally caught up... congratulations.
Eagle will raise the bar again for you in 2013... try and catch up faster this time.

Eagle is currently working under an ALPA contract with a duration of 16 years. It will end in 2012. New contract in 2013 (or however long it takes to get a significantly better contract).

Because EVERYBODY wants to sit in the right seat for 9 years before they upgrade....
(Not that I made my choice based on upgrade time, or that I am in favor of upgrades that happen prior to two years of experience in the right seat.)
As for a contract comparison...I know nothing about Eagle's contract, and I don't really care, to be honest. How do you know enough about the contracts from other carriers to compare it to your own? And if you DO know that much, do you have any other hobbies?
