And for the love of god would some one please justify the fact that a 76 seat Emb is any more mainline than a crj/700/900. Besides that if they are mainline airplane the mainline pilots should of fought to keep them! Frankly I would have rather seen that right along with 50 seaters. Dash 8/200's / Saab 320's or smaller for the regional carriers. Hell bring the shorts back! Someone screwed this business up long before you or I got here so lighten up with the personal slams.

Here we go again, "3rd year captain, 2nd year FO pay rates". Please tell me how a RAH crew at 66/31 is any worse then say a PSA crew at 62/30

i agree why is it that the 170 is considered a mainline airplane while the crj7 isnt? the same goes for the 175 and the crj9. i guess cause its a low wing airplane and looks like a mini 737 or airbus people think its more mainline than one of those "mini jets" that weren't good enough for mainline pilots a decade ago

I'm in class for RW right now, and this certainly wasn't the "good news" I was hoping for. As much as I want to see some life out of our PIT petting zoo, doing so at the expense of screwing the good folks at Midwest is something I'm not at all excited about. I know most of the people here at RAH also share that sentiment, including the people getting furloughed.
I want to have no part in that operation when I get back online. The bitter reality is, no matter how much I avoid landings in MKE and MCI on my bid, the burden of flying these routes will still fall on the junior folks who get displaced out to MCI. I really hope our unions can forge a sound resolution.

Then start your job search now, and when you leave... tell them why. As long as these scum sucking subcontractor airlines can get pilots this crap will continue. Apparently you just don't see that, or you never would have taken a job there in the first place.

Well I think the 66 seat is the limit, if you're flying a 100thousand poind jet with 75-90 pax that's pushing it. I mean SW flys 122 seat jets and they make 3 times as much as you. I have to admit though, the emb e jets do look like mainline airplane more so and in fact around the world they are used by mainline airlines. And after all Midwest will want to staff them with mainline pilots, if that isn't the best argument toward your question then I don't know what is. But then again if you think a 170 is a regional airplane then, I don't know what to say.
So according to you we should base our pay scales not on the number of seats, nor how much the aircraft weighs, or any other relevant criteria but on how it LOOKS? I mean are you serious? Ha so with that criteria WN should be making Mesa wages with those mustard and baby poo colored planes!!!

Man you never cease to amaze me with your posts. SKW makes 3 times as much as us? Ummmm.....yeah no. Check your pay rates.

SKW does not fly 122 seat airplanes.
SWA does in fact make 3x what you do.

Still don't understand his point then. Nobody said flying a 122 seat bird at WN they SHOULDN'T make 3 times as much.

So let me get this straight. I took a job at one of the highest paying regionals (RAH) <before yall get up in arms I said ONE OF...not THE BEST>, but because I am a regional pilot it doesn't matter...I'm scum. Just where would you suggest I got a job at....night cargo??? Cause that is a great job. It's nice that you can sit ontop of your little main-line Ivory Tower and look down upon those who came after you. I went to college...I flight instructed for 3+ years...I now fly for a regional...and hopefully someday I will fly for a major (If that is OK with you of course). Like it or not that it the course one must take to get into this industry. That has been the course for a while...since well before I got into it. Take your misdirected anger and turn it to those who allowed it to become that way and not those living with those results today.
