Solidariety to our Midwest Brothers

I smell a certain sense of hypocracy in the forum. I'm not shure if most of us know what the outcome of this deal will be and what the alternative is. Somehow i feel RAH guys are getting the advantadge, atleast short term. I get the sense that this talk is just that. Talk. It's cool to say; "boo whipsaw", "boo management" but nobody explains why. I genuinly don't understand why this would be bad for RAH. Maybe it's because i don't have the intention of ever working for Medex. Please explain how this is bad for RAH.
If you want to see your career grow, this blows.
It is good for RAH. The corporation. And the pilots. Short term. It is very, very bad for Midwest pilots and crews and bad for RAH pilots long term.

If you plan to fly 70-seaters for the rest of your career and top out your career at the age of about 25, it's great.

That's a very good question. The contract makes it hard for them to do so but the agreement with midwest is that RAH guys will fly the planes while the midwest program gets established. I don't expect this to happen but that's what the press release said. So far that is the only news we've been given.

A couple of thoughts? I am not really taking a side here, I am looking for feedback so don't crap in my mouth please.
How is this different then Skywest say flying crj700's vs. Us flying 170's. I know they don't but if the deal were to replace crj 200's with 700's would that be any less of a screw job.
I think Bedford as protecting the shareholder by getting these airplanes flying, that in the end is his job. Like it or not. I'd guess that he does not see the Midwest pilots coming to an agreement by June -10. Hense not a problem with our scope. I had not seen it here but the deal is a 10 year Wet lease/Dry lease option.
If I were a midwest pilot I suppose I would already be ****ed but this isn't much different then Midwest resizing their fleet. They certainly would not be able to do it this quickly by purchasing new E jets so wet leasing them until they can get up and running is really the only option. Would I like getting bumped from an 80 or a 71 to the ejet, no. If I was getting a competitve wage I most likely prefer it then my company folding or giving away my flying more then they haave with skywest.
Just my thoughts.

Midwest seems to be good at this! First they put all of there Skyway guys and gals out of a job by replacing them with Skywest. Now they are putting the majority of there own pilots out of a job to replace them with RAH! This is very bad for Midwest and RAH. Not to mention, if all of the Furloughes at RAH are going to continue, then how is this good for the pilots at RAH? I can understand if all of the furloughes were recalled, then some might have there jobs for that much longer! But now your company is telling you, hey we just picked up a bunch more flying, but we still dont need you, we will just work our other pilots more. So all in all, I see this as very bad for both companies! Just my two cents!!

This situation of mainline losing flying and a regional picking it up has been going on for a long time, and it wont stop unless someone stands up and says no. Isnt RAH in contract talks right now? How about stopping this before it gets real ugly?

We're still waiting to hear what our ever so competant union (snark snark) says about the deal.
