Skywest isn't the answer to everything but you decided to go there when Pinnacle had a shiotty contract, people on the boards recruit people to come work for them under the shiotty contract. The world would be a better place without Pinnacle. $38 an hour for an FO on the 200... underpaid yes, is a Pinnacle FO going to see that after "the new contract," doubt it.

Back to the thread, who cares if Pinnacle is cancelling classes. Just have to wait a bit before you'll get your Jet PIC time and go on to fly the heavy metal.

I didn't answer the phone, but apparently they were going to dead head me one direction to have me fly home in the morning.

I think this is just another sign of how understaffed we still are. They JA'd out of DTW all week. I personally think scheduling is doing a great job with what they have to work with, and I can only imagine that they get as frustrated as we get.

I guess this is a sign of a long winter to come. I can't wait to see the new people out of training and flying the line.
I do not believe you Pinnacle guys. You are complaining about flying too much. You should be thankful that you are still flying. A lot of your fellow brothers and sisters are on the street and not able to work. You should be ashamed of yourself. Go fly and do the job you are paid to do and stop complaining. Maybe if you get furloughed you will appreciate what you have. You make me sick.

wow I didn't realize you knew when I started in this industry or at Express I (pinnacle since Im sure you don't know that). 3/4 of the regionals didn't even exist. Do you have any idea how fair their rates on the Saab were when we flew them? It's new guys like you that dont realize today's stepchild was yesterday's place to be, and vice versa. And why is it OK for Skywest to fly -900's or -700 but any other regional get them and you say. "great stealing more mainline routes?"....and you decided to stay there when you put the nail in Midwest's coffin. According to your logic, what does that make you?

So your saying, that if you couldnt get a job at Skywest, Expressjet, or Republic that you would find other work rather than go to Pinnacle. It must be nice to be independently wealthy and not wanting to further your career. You dont think that people in other industries are accepting lower pay right now just so they can pay the bills or start a career out of college. Or how about the career changers, they are just supposed to say nevermind after they pay thousands to be an airline pilot. Im not saying we should be happy with our pay or work rules, And by any indication who at Pinnacle is content with their contract. So get off your high horse and quit thinking your better than everyone, your lucky you work for a good airline, the rest of us are working to make our airline good too. But if coming on here and berating the scourge of the earth for getting a job makes you feel better we will all just learn to skip right past your comments and chock it up to you having permanent PMS.

who complained about flying too much? All I have seen is people complaining about flying 9 hours a month, or complaining that we are short staffed and they are getting jr manned, even though they have timed out.

Whoa back the insult train up, we are complaining that we are flying to much because we want Pinnacle to hire more so that our fellow brothers and sisters on the street can come get jobs. Thats what we are so ****ed about, why are they flying us to death when they could hire highly qualified people right now that are out of work. Resist that knee jerk reaction that we are complaining about flying and see the point of the complaints.

I SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF MYSELF??? MAYBE IF I GET FURLOUGHED??? I MAKE YOU SICK???

I am going to try to be civil here, but I have news for you. I ALREADY HAVE BEEN FURLOUGHED THIS YEAR!!! That is why I am at Pinnacle. I am thankful everyday that I have a job and am still flying. I love the fact that I flew almost 30 hours last week. The problem that I was pointing out, is that we are understaffed and using JA (junior assignment), while we are canceling new hire classes. That is just stupidity.

If we were still hiring, there would be another place for my "fellow brothers and sisters" to get a job. That would be good for everybody. Try reading a post for what it is actually saying before you go bashing next time. Oh, and DON'T EVER assume you know a thing about my career history again.

Here's a little negotiating strategy. When you end the streak of being the number one on time regional and performance suffers because Pinnacle pilot's have stopped coming on the boards recommending jobs and start telling their "brothers and sisters" to stop applying because the pay and workrules suck that will give management motivation to get a contract signed. You didn't so now the next chance is in April. For the time being maybe it would be better for your brothers and sisters work at Costco driving the forklift instead of flying jets around for 4 days at a time bringing in 300 bucks. Pinnacle is a horrible company stop spreading the plague. Every time Mesa, I mean Pinnacle gets a 900 they are replacing mainline jobs or at least higher paying regional jobs.

Thousands of furloughs that want to apply, or hundreds that have applied and are now in the pool, care. Believe it or not, there are lots of guys with tons more total time/PIC time than you flying at the regional level, or who want to be hired at a regional. But you go right on living in your fantasy island....

way to cast a shadow on every pilot there due to the hiring/performace actions of a few......actually since management is scared poopless and has scared the rampers and finally staffed the ramp right, it is VERY hard to get a late legit departure/arrival.
