Default Question for RAH quys

With RAH operating three airlines with one pilot seniority list I began to wonder how they would handle a large scale (or small I guess) furlough. Is it possible for a senior Chautauqua pilot to be moved to Republic because of a furlough? And then would a junior Republic pilot get furloughed to make room for that Chautauqua pilot?

If, for example, Chautauqua were to be dropped by AA and had to furlough, would the more senior folks possibly move to Republic or Shuttle America as well as moving around within Chautauqua? Would junior folks at Republic or Shuttle America get furloughed to make room for the more senior folks at at Chautauqua?

Furloughs, per the contract, are done by seniority number only. So, your example is spot on, even if it requires additional training for those Chautauqua guys and gals to cross certificates to fill spots left vacant by furloughed guys junior to them.

The current furlough that became effective a month an a half ago was followed exactly that way.

another queustion...
when your president came in front of your pilot group a couple years ago and said, "boys and girls if you will take a paycut i will guarantee you some quick upgrades. we are going to steal some flying away from comair over there on the delta brand" why did you do that? why did republic pilots take a pay cut to steal away someone elses work when that other pilot group just spent nearly three months on the street striking to help out the industry?

Well actually when I had Bedford over for dinner a couple months ago I said to him "Bryan, I just want to let you know that I as well as our ENTIRE pilot group personally endorse anything and everything you plan on doing. That said, please don't feel hindered in any way by feeling the need to 'contact our union prior to making decisions' or 'follow our contract.'" I said to him "these things just get in the way and must make life really difficult for you."

So to answer your question, he didn't specifically mention the Comair flying to me the last time he was over at my house, but he did say something to the effect of "How do you feel about ruining other people's lives so that you can have a marginally better one?" To which I responded "I'm for it!"

Hope that answers your legitimate, non flame-bait question.

I voted for it, because that's how it works right? CEO does what the pilots say, not the other way around, and we always vote on the important stuff.

its in our contract that we will gladly take a 15% pay cut specifically to undercut the previous company's flying. for example when CHQ pilots fly for continental we get 15% less than express jet and then on a delta trip we take 15% less than comair. I thought all of us replacement SJS companies had these clauses.

You guys are killing me <me laughing right now>. Your brilliant responses, otherwise know as sarcasm, are oh so appropriate, especially when such an asinine question/comment is posted. Carry on!

I'll bite-

With us, the $$ is not the issue. It doesn't matter one bit how much of a pay cut we have to take as long as we can get into your flying and into your woman's undies. Usually we get both both, but either will suffice.

(The term "your woman's undies" is intentionally ambiguous because it makes sense no matter how you choose to interpret it.)

i dont work for comair but i am a fan of their pilot group and heard how they were snaked pretty bad by chataqua. i was just curious to hear how your pilot group felt about the results of their selfish actions. the immature responses have done alot to improve the respect the rest of the industry has of your pilot group as well as mesa's. carry on children carry on...
