how can you say our work rules are that bad? Yeah we dont have trip/duty regs but how many other regionals do? skywest and who else? Yeah we dont have cancelation pay which does suck, but on the other hand we consistently have an over 99.8% completion factor so it doesnt matter that much. we also dont have junior manning. What regionals have that clause? Our deadheads are paid at 75% the exact same as Eagles dead heads. If we are on reserve and get called out we have a minimum day gurantee; if any other regionals have that please let me know. Yeah our FO pay is low but its consistent with everyone elses. Captains pay is consistent with other regionals. Our minimum days off is the exact same as eagles 11 a month for reserve and 12 for line holders. If there are other regionals out there that have beter work rules please either pm me or write them up here to let all of us whipsaw/scabs/downfalls to the industry that are the pilots at rah know.

Actually, it won't be that long. A lot of the furloughed guys have gone to Mesaba and Compass, and had to give up their recall rights. Look for true new-hires early 1st quarter 09.

Let's hope all the call backs happen soon for the guys/gals and their families.

Please please please show us some proof of us reminding you that we fly bigger a/c. I've been coming on this forum for a while and have never read anything of that sort. How is an E175 any different than a CRJ900? Get over your self-induced inferiority complex.

This is the nature of the industry. The RAH contract is very average. Its not a whole lot better than many, but its not worse either. RAH runs at a low cost because its very lean on all levels from management, scheduling, etc right on through to the pilots and FAs. Unfortunatly, RAH is just the new whipping boy by many. No one cared when the industry was growing and everyone was doing well. Now that things have taken a downturn, someone has to be evil. Its not a coincedence that its the one company still somewhat growing. Calling RAH the next mesa is just laughable. There is zero comparison in the two companies other than them not being wholly owned by a legacy.

Its rather sad people are bashing others. If RAH were to lose one of their contracts to another regional, you bet they'd be celebrating for being the new "cheaper option". This is all a matter of people wanting their company to grow and not someone elses.

We all got into this industry to do what we love.
We dont need to point fingers or wish ill on others or put down company policies/procedures because of the uniform they wear. If your not happy with contracts/pay/QOL, tough. This is the nature of the business right now. Whether your at GLA,MESA,FedEx or Southwest you all knew the conditions of the company you applied/work for. All this bickering about how mine is better than yours is garbage. "Cowboy up" and fly. If you dont like it leave. Many of our airline bro/sisters who are on the street will gladly fill your spot.
