Doing the Reserve/Guard gig and civilian commercial flying is a big hassle sometimes. I feel for ya'. Drill weekends and AT's can be a problem, especially if you are at an outfit that has limited or no experience with pilots doing it.
Sorry you are having problems with your schedule but it does sound like what I've experienced too. And probably lots of others who are doing/ have done 135.
Hopefully you have decent dispatchers at your outfit, good ones are worth their weight in gold, and bad ones have the power to seriously cost you a lot of wasted time and money.
I know nothing about your outfits staffing situation. Might be run by complete bozos, might not.
I would hope however if you explain your situation with being in the reserves though that they will try to help you out. Also, do you have the possibility of doing trade days with another pilot on your scheduled drill days and for AT's?
I know you are frustrated, but is this the proper venue to vent your frustrations? Your initial thread title is very eye-catching, but pretty unprofessional in my opinion. Have you talked to your CP or DO, or even dispatch yet about your concerns?
Good luck.

Does GA skies even pay their FOs? Or is it the other small prop operation out of Atlanta (or Athens?) that doesn't pay their FOs?

Fly Wings Air
Maybe, but check out the "fleet" page. Apparently, they think it's called the "Federal Aviation Authority."

We dont bid for schedules. We all work five days a week with two days off. We bid for days off. Its not the one weekend a month and AT thats the issue. Its the "other" stuff as a commander I have to do. For example I had to go to a four day conference in addition to my normal two day drill. I habe to another two day confence next month.

It doesnt matter anymore, they terminated me last night and refuse to tell me why. They say they dont have to because it is a rite to work state. It has really put a sour taste in my mouth for this industry. It was never like this in the mlitary and I am strongly thinking of going back active duty.

Sorry guys. I am just not used to this kind of treatment from a profession.

It might just be because most "companies" in this industry are more appropriately described as "outfits."

The days of real innovation, logic and compassion for employees in ANY industry in this country are long gone.

Its customary to bring a cop with you when you go back for your headphones. Once you are a "EX" they will threaten you with everything the hair lip can think of.... and more. Expect to have your name dragged through the boards. These guys don't give a $hit because of the sucker factor attached to every low time pilot cert. This is not the industry, its just the pacific wings "D.H.'s" at work..

Sorry to hear that, although you'll probably be better off.

If you suspect they fired you because of your reserve duties, please contact the ESGR folks for some advice. Right to work does NOT give them the right to fire reservists unless they can show that their reasons were not due to your military duty. While they might be able to fire a civilian without any justification, in your case they will have to show good reason or the default assumption will be that you were fired because of your service. You might have some money coming your way.

Wink

These are the same Guys that run Pacific Wings in Hawaii. They Only go after the EAS routes because thats what their business model is modeled around....for a new Commercial Pilot with 400 hours and who hates to Flight Instruct its a job.....but the people who run Pac Wings in Hawaii are all idiots. They know they can get Joe Pilot from anywhere to fly a caravan they dont care about what they do to you and will fly you to death. If you want to be treated like an imigrant worker and get paid 2 cents on the dollar to work your fingers to the bone this place is for you!
