They have a nice website with a picture of a captain. Is that a soul patch or dirt under his mouth?

Anyway, this has really made me wonder what I invested in and I really want to go back into law enforcement. i dont want to say too much more cause the powers that be may be monitoring this site.
Oh the horror. My trip has been changed twice in the time I've been reading this thread. Were you expecting a hard schedule? It sounds to me like a typical entry level 135 job. If the planes are safe and they aren't pushing you to do anything illegal I would suck it up until something better came along. With a little caravan experience you might be competitive for some of the Fed Ex feeders.

Georgia Skies is that Caravan operator that bases out of Atlantic ATL, right?

Is it just the schedule? I worked at a 121 that did that. We bid for a schedule, but trying to bid for certain flights was a futile effort, you didn't know where you were going until the night before. It sounds like you're home every evening, so while frustrating, it could be worse.

I knew I MIGHT be working on Christmas and Christmas Eve. Got called at 4pm for a 6pm flight. On Christmas Day, that was just as I was walking out the door for Christmas Dinner. So microwave pizza it was!

Hate to say it, but this industry will throw you some curve balls. You do it because you enjoy it, not because you like the schedule or the money.

That comes much later, if ever...

Yep. Really, its a DBA for Pacific Wings, like New Mexico Airlines.

Oh my!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's scary unprofessional! A 17 year old captain (non caps on purpose) with a peach fuzz "flavor saver" in your pr pics!?! nice.

At first blush these wings air guys seem to be the way to go.

I have no problem working on Christmas Day or any holiday . I dont mind comming in at 4 am. I would just like to know about it in advance.

I am an officer in the Reserves and I have to plan my life and I need to know whats comming up so that I can plan. When things are hit on me like that it messes up the plannning process.

Do you at least know which days you're working?

This is how I looked at it. I bid for days off and basically wrote off the days I was working. If I got off early or came in late, it was a bonus and I took care of what I needed to do on those days.

Did it suck yeah, but it was my job. I later moved on to another job where my schedule was a bit more set (but the chances of getting JA'd on a day off were more).

Hate to say it, but... Welcome to the Airlines!!

So just because the guy looks young, its "scary unprofessional". I must have missed that memo...

What else are you going to tell passengers the guy who sits in the left seat of a single pilot airplane is?

If you go to the website of Pacific Wings, their parent company, there are tons of pictures of woman pilots. Oh man, send the Coast Guard up now, they're going to have lots of planes to look for between the islands.

This airline flies caravans, not 747's.
