This place sounds like a M. B. outfit. Use to run airlink before it was pinnacle and CEA out of midway.

WORSE.. Owner bought pw with daddy's money. Then bought maui house from greedy pineapple co. a month or two after 90 year old Pineapple Plantation Grandma died. She raised the greedy people that sold it. Pw owner bought it with again Daddy's money. Now He shoots skeet every evening like Magum PI and higgins.

N6724G sorry to hear that you were fired without so much as a warning. Sounds like a trashy way to treat a highly trained, dedicated professional. Assuming you were doing a safe and legal job, the fact you are not even sure what they fired you for sounds like proof they are trashy about the way they treat pilots. If it was just the scheduling conflict, then do as Ricks says and get a lawyer to see if you can get a settlement out of it. If they are the trashy people they sound like you will scare the heck out of them such a move.

At any rate, aviation is a small world and people will learn about them in due time. They are a new outfit in the Atlanta area and the story will get out.

If you want to be treated like an imigrant worker and get paid 2 cents on the dollar to work your fingers to the bone this place is for you!

If you suspect they fired you because of your reserve duties, please contact the ESGR folks for some advice. Right to work does NOT give them the right to fire reservists unless they can show that their reasons were not due to your military duty. While they might be able to fire a civilian without any justification, in your case they will have to show good reason or the default assumption will be that you were fired because of your service. You might have some money coming your way.

Thanks Rick, I never thought about that. But you are right. Because I ant think of any other reason. I have no bad perfomance write ups and I know of no complaints against me, so you are right. The assumption is becaue of the Reserve duty. In fact, that was a concern of theirs when I told them I had to be gone for two days for a conference.

Even airport security will cheat, lie, and resort to violence to get these guys.

Search "Pacific wings" in the maui news link for more GOODIES..

I am not a lawyer or a legal expert, but my understanding is that federal labor laws do not allow military Reservists to be discriminated against on account of their obligations as Reservists. If the Military did not have these protections then no one would be able to hold a job who was also serving part time in the Reserves. Refer to RickAir7777's post on this thread for clarification. The obvious implication is that Reservists must be protected from being fired simply because they are not available for scheduling as much as everyone else. However, if Ga Skies fired our guy for other reasons, such as failure to comply to FAA regulations or any of a number of other legitimate reasons, then he may be fired without legal repercussions.

Personally I hope that N6724G looks into this, because if Ga Skies is bold enough to fire people simply because they cannot make their schedule on account of Reserve duty, it is an egregious offense that needs to be addressed.

And GA Skies has a government contrat to fly EAS routes. EAS ia contract the gov't does to provide air service from small airports to major airports. US Airways was doing it but they left and GS skies got the contract.

Regardless of what kind of flying they're doing that's BS. Both airlines I've worked at gave a no questions asked "ok" if you had military duty.

Thanks for your service. Take them to the cleaners.
