10 of Mesaba CR9's going to ASA

Nice generalization. I love how such a small portion of people who post on public forum can give a whole airline a certain image. I don't know who you fly for nor do i care to check. I will just assume that all Jungle Jet drivers are jackasses. I'm just kidding but good God we are our own worst enemy!

Oh i will admit that there are tools that fly at Mesaba. Just like there are tools that fly everywhere. I also won't deny that there were a lot of guys that created screen names and played the part of a brand new green Mesaba FO and people ate it up. I'm just not a fan of calling a pilot group out on being Sh!t heads when only a few represent the group on this forum.

I think he sounds offended by blanket statements which you had encompass a lot of people who didn't deserve it. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of individuals who are a lot more cocky than they have a right to be. Definitely not "most" of our pilot group though. This isn't what the post is about anyway.

Regionals usually staff about 5 crews per airplane = 100 pilots jobs lost.
I wouldn't expect to start class there anytime soon.
The lady who calls (more likely emails) to cancel class dates is probably on vacation this week...you'll hear something next week at the latest. Plan accordingly....and welcome to professional aviation.

15-5 = 10 ten airplane reduction.

wow.. first they are at freedom. then they are at pinnacle. then they are at mesaba. then they are at asa. i have a strange feeling that this isn't over.
so i really dont think this is good news for skywest. they are already fat on people and if mesaba is moving into salt lake that cant be good. i would bet that the 8 markets that mesaba will serve in the 900 will be markets that skywest already services.

Our DAL SLC %age based contract is good through 2020 and since we are one of the best performing airlines in the industry, our contract cannot be broken without severe penalties. So if someone does come into SLC I wouldn’t expect the base to get all that large.
My opinion, SKW can’t be the only operator out of SLC but until 2020 we will be the main; much like ASA must remain the main operator out of ATL with their %age based guarantee contract. As SA, SKW and 9E have moved in to handle the scraps in ATL so will others in SLC. In no way is this a decrease in SKW flying and in no way will it truly affect us, we have 18 CR7NG’s that we begin taking delivery of in the 1stQ09 and other 8 DAL CR9NG’s still to come.
