Default You experience on the line since the USAir Crash

I've been off for a couple days and I'm just curious to see what going on out there. Are you guys noticing any difference with the passengers? More nervous flyers? People paying attention to the announcements? People looking at younger pilot sand wondering if you are capable? What are you guys seeing out there since this event?

Go!

Nothing from me. I was just hoping no one would say anything to me about it when it was on TV early this morning at the hotel lobby. A few other passengers were there waiting to take the van too, and thankfully they didn't ask me about my analysis on how it happened. I didn't feel like talking about it.

I was commuting today on USAir and a passenger came up and asked me what I would have done, what I thought, are we trained for that, and said he heard that it had happened previously in 1967...

I just said they did a good job, I'd try to do what they did, sure they train us and 196-turn off CNN.

People will get over it in 3 weeks...

Ive gotten questions about what happens when a bird hits an engine...

Chops it up
Cooks it
Spits it out

... they loved it.

They seemed a little nicer today. We left LGA yesterday around 6:15 - under 2 hrs late - and the captain made an announcement about our aircraft's latest in anti-bird technology...large propellers mounted on the wings so the birds get chopped up and they end up in the water instead of the plane.

Everyone is talking about it. Everyone...Silly passenger-type questions and comments galore!

Had a lil old lady tell me today while she was getting off my plane...I have always flown U.S. Airways and you guys are the best pilots in the industry...I just gave her a smile and said, Thank you we do our best." HA! "JOKES ON YOU LADY! YOU'RE RIDING ON AIR WISCONSINS!" I didn't say that last part out loud, but I laughed in my head...
