Yep and that was exactly my point before. All you had to do was breathe to get a job at that time. Yet he is still complaining after the program shut its doors. Again do your RESEARCH and quit expecting anything, no matter what they promised. What makes you any different from all the other pilots out there? We all had or have our Comm. Multi, why should you have gotten an interview before the rest of us, because you paid more?

I'm really sorry for sounding so harsh but life isn't fair....move on or save up and get your CFI.

I tink rather than beeing the pessimest, we need to be giving good advice. It's time to buckle down and get some hours. Don't leave the career soo soon. Just because one company gave you a bad taste, dosen't mean the next won't taste sweet. I may be a low time pilot (around 1000ish), but I grew up around aviation. Everyone has these types of experinces, weather in aviation or another field. Working at American Flyers almost made me leave the industry, and that was my 1st job. Now I work at an FBO, and absolutely love my job. Stick with it, if aviation is in your blood, you will be happy with your decesion in the end. I promise.

I'm pretty sure I still have jet A in my blood from fueling a dirty old King Air I flew a while back. Does that count?

No, really.... I can't get anywhere near open flame...

That pretty much is exactly what he should have done as well as many other pilots or pilot candidates, why spend sooooooooo much more money than what you would spend going to your local flight school and working your way through the ratings.

Wow....I'm sick of this put in your dues crap. If you had the funds or the availability was around to get your foot in the door early when you were in your early stages your telling me you wouldn't do it cause you were gonna "put in your dues" hahaha. Well my friend....thats just a lie or plain stupidity. Heres some more food for thought......I have friends with their CFI who went the bridge route....Not this school but others...ATP, JET U ect..They might have paid more but are now at the Regionals. While other friends of mine who couldn't afford the cost stuck it out instructing. Now over a year later the guys who CFI'd are stuck with nowhere to go.....Now tell me if the money is available whats the smarter option. It's all about timing in this industry and getting in early is key. I personally CFI'd and went the bridge route and though my loan is a little larger than some I am happy with the decision. I'll probably be 3rd year pay when some of my buds who started training with me finally get into the right seat. I wish the best for anyone trying to get into this cut throat industry.....If u don't jump at good opportunities when presented with them you'll be left in the dust...."putting in your dues".....

Wow, 3rd year regional jet pay as an FO. Don't flatter yourself.

I have flown with too many of you bridge guys who think you are gods gift. When it hits the fan your types have a knack of locking up like an old pc.....maybe you should consider 'putting in your dues'
Congrats on spending that cash so shrewdly.

The bottom line is that it's sad how these "education institutes" can parade around spouting lies and unrealistic expectations, and have no consequence for their misrepresentation. Its a crime that education is now controlled by a business model and "salesmen" are hired to lure you in by any level of dishonesty.

I feel bad for this guy, and I also feel bad for a lot of guys who over-paid, and yes, even paid for training. When initially starting this career, we were almost all naive to the realities of schedule, pay and the ranks. Very few of us understood the concept of "putting in your time", "undercutting the industry through PFT", and what it means to be a union member.

Those of us who put in our time, are hypocrites to criticize these people for trying to take a short cut. When we were at that level, we too were trying to take any short cut we could.

Welle036, after I got out of the program, I had $2000 to my name and $101,000 in debt. The math just didn't work out. Regional airlines pay crap. Had they made good with the 10-12 month timeline, I would have been struggling, but at least I would have had a chance with a regional pay scale. I even looked to local parachute jump and banner towing operations. They all wanted turboprop time and the banner towing wanted taildragger time, which, the CAPT program does not provide. And they also didn't do CFI for any of us back then. Good times...

Unless you already have another skill aviation would probably still be your greatest future earning potential. That debt is so huge I don't think anything you could do would make the math work out. I don't know what your doing now, but I would still go for it. Eventually you will probably make good money in aviation and be able to pay that thing down. Learning another skill would take more debt and training time and by the time you finish all that, who knows what you would be making as a pilot.
