You might want to consider this...
Not only do you need to find a job that will pay your bills (and student loans) for the next 2-4 years waiting for a regional job, but you also need to find a job that will allow you to save up enough money in the next 2-4 years so you can live on FO pay for the next 3-8 years after that.
If you're ready to live with your parents and don't start a family for the next 5-12 years, you're all set.

As for me...to late starting a family. Already got married. Luckily no kids yet and for survival purposes, hopefully none in the near future!
I took the AFOQT this morning, so we shall see where that leads....
Thank your for your optimism, though

Hey Dan (and others)....
FWIW, Im a DAL pilot (after 8 yrs at ASA)... If you get hired (eventually) with Delta and have ANY previous Delta experience (including throwing bags for a summer), you automatically get moved to the most senior position in your new hire class. Also, it will get your preferential hiring with DAL as a "previous delta employee."
If DAL is in your career ambition, then might be worth it. Just thought Id mention it.
