This is exactly right. It might be cool, for a second, to your friends, that you fly a mini 737, or that you fly a jet, period, but that coolness will wear off, quick, when you tell them how much you make.

To the generation of pilots, who is willing to fly mainline aircraft, for crap wages, you may find it cool and you may think you have, "bragging rights", to your friends, and family, but they will be laughing at you, all the way to the bank, as they buy their homes, raise their families, go on vacations, and actually have a retirement to look forward to. Meanwhile, you can fly your 70+ seat, mainline jet, for regional wages, and stay in your crash-pad, eating your top ramon. You'll be cool, though, because you fly a big jet! ROFL!

haha. this is good. you should say that to a midwest pilot. then tell me if he slaps you.

who says we want to fly this airplane for the wages we are currently getting. Jump on the "Bash RAH" bandwagon! This contract was made before 170s were even on the horizon. Do you understand what I just said? I'll say it again, This contract was voted on before 170s were even on the horizon. Meaning, no one at Chautauqua knew those planes were coming. Back then, it was a Saab operation with 145s coming.

We are not proud of the wages and being that we are in contract negotations, we are going to get compensated for it. I truely hope so. I will do my VERY BEST to spread the word about a better contract. Because upon doing so, then that would mean a better contract for others to shoot for..............even to my XJT brothers and sisters who I love so much (majority of you) Maybe Sobb wont be so bitter.

Until then, leave this argument alone. It isnt worth the fight right now. If 25% of our pilot group votes on the new TA then yes, you can throw mud but until then.

OH GOD PLEASE do not delete this response and hit me with another infraction

ok, Im done with this thread.

You voted in a contract that was openended on pay rates for airplane types? What if BB had decided to buy 747s, would you be flying them for the same rate?

A contract should always have a stipulation that if a new aircraft type is added during the life of the CBA, the pay rates will be negotiated for that type before the aircraft comes on property. XJT is a good example of that. The excuse that the 170 wasn't on the horizon is a poor one.

Not very. More than one junior person holding that base.

So all RAH pilots are losers, even the ones who got hired after said contract was voted on?

Who said "losers"? I didn't. I just said it was a poor excuse. And if you didn't like the pay rate, you shouldn't have gone there. Pretty simple.
