I don't think so. As far as COEX ops go, CLE is on the ball. Of the five DelCon bases I've flown out of, I was impressed with them as long it was Delta mainline that worked us, as in LGA, BOS, LAX, SLC, and CVG. When CVG got handed over to COMAIR it fell apart.

They're doing SAV and GSP out of IAD as well.

I once saw a ramper shove a Capt. in front of his supervisor in IAD because the Capt. wasn't given the load paperwork and we must have been the last flight out because after we were loaded up EVERYONE disappeared. The Capt. made several calls and finally got the sup and ramper and they got into an argument that the rampie gave the paperwork to the Capt. a shove ensued and the ramper was still working there months later ...

The only problem with that is that xjet is not a UAX carrier. And considering all the other uax carriers I don't see the need for UA to contract this flying for a few months to xjet... Probably has to do with Mesa. I know Gojet is replacing a lot of their CRJ7 flying in IAD.

Does it matter? It's United's flying, NOT the UAX carriers flying.

And no, I personally DON'T care if XJT does it or not. It's a temporary deal and has NO impact what so ever on the long term viability of XJT, as it stands now anyway.

There was a rumor going around that there was a big announcement here like two months ago. It was going to be on the 15th and it was going to be about xjt.... everyone had heard about "the announcement" rumor and then you know what it was? colgan got 15 more q400's. Knife through the heart for all those rumor lovers...
I'll agree with you, that rumor about January or February 15th was just a bunch of BS. I laughed my ass off when it turned out to be Colgan's big new deal with CAL (what can I say, I have a dark sense of humor). But the UAX flying is no rumor. Its been confirmed in the flight ops voicemails, schedules have been built out of EWR and CLE to cover the flying and apparently you can find them on United.com. Its only temporary, kinda like the deal last year. Not something to get too excited about but I guess it's better than another poke in the eye from Mama Cal.

Dulles ops cant be any worse then ewr term A was when it started. It might win if what you say is true for continually **** poor performance but for being a notable mention ewr term A you could wait for rampers for 45 min and then an hour for a jetway driver while you are parked, bag door open (not getting paid), with ****ed off passengers, in the meantime there were rampers, gate agents, and open gates over in our old term c, oh and an ops coordinator who stopped responding to radio calls unless you sounded desperate or said your passengers were dialing 911.... that was ewr terminal A for 3 weeks.
Wow. Y'all must be going to a different EWR Terminal A than I am. I've never had it half as bad as some of you are describing. Even when we did have to play switchboard calling ops and ramp for gate assignments. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing sucks about Terminal A ops (beside the terminal itself which is a hole compared to Terminal C) is that cluster over at A31L/R.

What I have witnessed of IAD ops though...sweet Jesus! How do those folks ever turn an airplane! It feels like I got shot down in the Sudan or Somalia with all the warmth and hospitality they have to offer yet, there I am, 30 miles from our nations capitol. Freaking amazing
