Default Jumpseating on a Continental Express flight

Today I finish in PHL at 5:17 and hope to jumpseat home to GRR via CLE. The shortest way in total time is on an ExpressJet flight at 18:30 and another out of CLE on, I think, Chautauqua.

On CAL's website they both show at least a half-dozen open seats. Is this web info reliable? Is there a non-rev number I can call to get listed in advance and have a better idea of loads?

I know the ERJ-145 has weight issues. Am I likely to get bumped even with open seats?

I hardly ever use CAL Express but this connection looks good.

Any thoughts from folks familiar would be very appreciated! Thanks!

I don't think you can list for a COEX flight. Just ask the gate agent for a jumpseat form. Shouldn't be much of a weight issue, for XJT at least.

Yeah, I've ridden on XJT quite a bit... Just talk to the gate agent... Haven't had a problem with 'em. I've generally found the seatmap on the CO website to be fairly accurate as well.

Thanks for the info guys. I really appreciate it.

I'll try to go that route, but PHL is running hours behind at this point and getting home is going to be an adventure.

Who knows though.....

Thank goodness they got that mod. That was a HUGE problem when CHQ started flying for CAL. It was by far NOT the crew's fault, but it was still frustrating trying to commute home from IAH.
