Yeah, we've become a culture that celebrates mediocrity as the high point. The whole BS about everybody wins, there are no losers. What BS, our wonderful government teaches this crap in school now. I know, my wife is a teacher and is forced to do this. We, however, teach our kids that life is not like this and there are consequences to every action both good and bad. They work hard, they get rewarded, laze about they get nothing.

Whats the saying..."you don't bring bottom rung up, you bring the top rung down".

I agree 100%

Colleges and Universities were not created to teach people...they were created to make money.

Hospitals weren't built to save people, they were built to make money.

The US high school system lags behind most countries by a huge margin. Given that you can graduate so easily, it's no wonder further education is required!

State Colleges are not for profit institutions, so were is your argument here? Private Colleges can be for profit, and I'm sure make a lot of people good money but so what?

I fail to see your point in this post other than to rant against advanced education, which, in my mind is just ill logical. Who would ever tell they're child NOT to go to college? Sounds like a blue collar chip to me.

You know, I kinda have to laugh when I read over this thread and all the misspelling, bad grammar, etc. comes from those pushing the "college is the only way" angle.

I knew there was going to be at least one person to make that comment. Because we all know an online forum is like a college essay and we proofread posts. Or maybe he's suggesting everyone goes to college to get an English major, I dont know. Just a thought.

I would tell every and any child to go to college.

State Colleges are revenue generating for the State. Federal Tax code gives states additional aid for state-run education institutions.

I graduated college, however I have friends who are absolute retards to breezed through school. So I don't believe that college makes you any better than a HS grad. Not at all. Some of the brightest people I've come across didn't go to college.

So kids- go to college. But if you don't, don't think you're any less.
