ohhh stud alert...
but obviously u suck at skiing
how bout you cut the BS that just because some activity (skiing) makes YOU tired, doesn't make it so for everyone?
You can't honestly tell me that her sitting around a sausage fest crashpad in EWR sharing a room with 5 guys can be more relaxful than a day on the slopes...

Why all this criticism against the female FO who went skiing the day before. So what? Skiing can be exhilarating and relaxing. Beats sitting in the crew room all day. Let's not tear apart that poor girl who paid dearly for her mistake in the cockpit. Yeah she did make a major mistake but no need to attack her on her time off activities. I've flown with some great female pilots who were actually better than some older male counterparts with many more hours.
Colgan training needs to be examined closely to see if she received the necessary training. It's also very possible she was so startled that she forgot her training and raised the flaps.

It's funny, but most of the ones I've flown with were more like this poor girl.. clueless in terms of systems, aerodynamics and most importantly SA... but then I've not flown with every women in aviation, so maybe I just had a bad sample.

Could be just you. They are all different like us. Same can said for some of the guys I've flown with, clueless and without SA.

Wow, when I was at Horizon I used to ski on reserve. Who knew that I would've been unfit for duty if they'd called me!?
Seriously, I'm not sure how we got on the subject of skiing but some of ya'll got your facts wrong. Ms Shaw went skiing two days before her trip, not one. It was on the 10th. Check the Human Performance Group report in the NTSB's public docket.

Maybe Ca Teezy shouldn't lift weights and go jogging several miles on his day off.....since if done right it is as hard as skiing! FAA is gonna say no gym memberships for pilots!

Would Gulfstream have the same record if they were based in EWR? Take them out of FL and see what happens. My company has a list of airlines that we are not allowed to be booked on and Gulfstream is the only one that has stayed on that list and will not be removed. If my company's corporate safety department (union and pilots have no influence on this decision) has been able to determine that the risk is too high to book its own personal on those flights then I would not purchase a ticket on Gulfstream for me or my family.
Actually they have I believe 3 new bases up in the Cleveland area. So and so far they have only had one gear issue. so far your statement doesn't hold really hold true. Guess time will tell ...

Ok now you are just getting severely stupid...
First off...my point was that she was exercising in very cold conditions. With out a doubt this is hard on the body. Anyone whos says this isnt hard on the body is a moron. Obviously it made her sick as she stated. Also the problem with her activity is that yes she did it 2 days before she participated in killing 50 people but that she didnt rest from the activity properly...cmon...she spent the next day traveling on a red eye flight across the continent and never really got a good 8 hours of SOLID REST/SLEEP.
I was not trying to brag about the weight lifting only simply stating that I am in good physical shape since you implied that I was some out of shape fat guy.

Actually TZ they figure that she went to bed around 2230 on the 10th and woke up around 0900...ie 10+30 of sleep that night.
Admittedly she got very little quality rest on the night of the 11th or throughout the day on the 12th...but at least get your facts straight. I don't really see the problem as beginning until the night of the 11th when she commuted in on FedEx.
