Pinnacle negotiations

I just read that email and i am disgusted with both management and our union. You closed the entire contract but could not agree on that? For those not aware - the company wanted our pilots to be dual qualified on the 200 and 900 - the union did not. I mean seriously, if you are down to that issue alone, sit at the table and work it out like men.

The UNION NEVER said they DIDN'T want crews to be dual qual'd. Most would be totally fine with it.. The problem is that the company wants to only put a premium on the time in the -900 cockpit. That means sick time, VAC, guar would all be based on -200 rates. The company wants the luxury of being able to stretch the crews thin system wide and keep costs at a -200 level and only have to dish out -900 money when the -900 is in the air. Think about it... We are fat in ATL, thin in the -200 system- with guys displaced. Letting the company use RSV's system wide would only slow upgrades and keep the possibility of a furlough much more plausable in the circumstance of a cut in hours. Re-read the email and see if it makes sense with this viewpoint. (think like mgmt)

Now that is a valid question. I am waiting to have some questions answered from Scott and other committee members that directly relates to how can we (in theory) have everything else settled and not this? I have no problems being dual-qual'd. I would love to have the opportunity to fly the nice plane and go to new destinations, but any sacrifice in pay/qol is not acceptable just to fly it. There needs to be a -900 rate for all the flying (200 or 900) if the company wants this. Much like FDX flying the MD-10/11 all at the same rate. There is an international override, but a MD driver makes the same as a Big Bus driver domestic.

By no means.. we should'nt have to accept blended rates otherwise management will totally screw the whole pilot group. What's wrong with them agreeing to 900 rates. I like the fact that we are not switching aircrafts back and forth, we would be hosed doing trips in the 900 and company paying you 200 rates. the union would be overloaded with greivencies just over differential pay. look at ASA and Comair as an example. They treat the two aircrafts differently even though the type is the same. Our safety record is not the best, so lets air on the side of safety and get this contract done without bloody blended rates. To the Union.... You got the strike vote, dont you think its time for a cooling off period and act on the 99%?? This management is going to go back and forth for as long as they can until some sort of action is taken by the pilots. "Time has come to activate MSP strike central and send a clear and uncut message which we the pilots all agreed on.

So at what point do you PILOTS say ENOUGH?????....When do you stop making the company look good with on time performance. you have control over that???
When do you say ENOUGH???.. next week...next month....NEXT YEAR!!!
Every time you sit down and 9-E/ALPA lets them have a little more tug on your skirt you legitimize Uncle Phil and Cousin Clive and give them no reason to settle.
Better grab their balls quick before Delta give you all the big toss to the trash bin.
