We are not a downward drag on pay. Total compensation wise we are among the top, hourly rate wise we are merely above average.

As for what we’re doing.........I hate to be critical of my own but the majority of SKW pilots only care about themselves. They don't see the big picture because their too busy drinking Kool-Aid. This pilot group will never set the bar and it will never hold the bar.

It's sad but it's true.

Sapa asked specifically not to post any of what ever SAPA sends to us.

Parts of it may be public info but "SAPA - Pilot" communication does not have to be "public info"

people will take any opportunity you give them to be provoked.

To ask them kindly to behave while posting possible provocative info makes it even worse.

Even if we know that none of the ATL CVG flying that you mention was or is ASA former flying..............how will you make them (ASA) guys believe that when they are facing cuts?

We have to be sensible about any news and how they are presented as it may be turned into something that it is not. To just claim it is public and you can find it on that and this list does not free you from what it may start.................

I am a bit upset about losing my captain seat while SKW is in ATL flying flight we could just as easily do. You are here because you have aq cheaper labor cost. That's very big of you. You are aware that Mesaba is wholly owned, and sorta therefore is kinda Delta? I'm just sayin'.......

 

So.... the point of this statement was....??? To say that you are a Delta pilot??? You may want to take another look at that logic again. All that means is the Delta can $krew you over without a court. Talk to a Comair pilot and ask them what OWNED by Delta really means. Doesn't make you Delta.

 

Nope. The point was (is) that, right, why would SKW have any reason to feel resentment toward Mesaba pilots? I'm painfuly aware of the pitfalls of working for a DCI W/O carrier, thanks. At the end of the day, the routes are going to go to whoever DL sees fit to fly them for whatever logic they choose to apply. My point was that XJ isn't some pi$$ant little operator that wormed thier way into the flying. Ergo, why be bitter toward anyone? We're all going to take it in the can in some way before this is all over.

 

This kind of says it all. You guys are fighting over something that doesn't belong to any of you. To say some other company or pilot group "stole our flying," is a non starter. If it doesn't belong to you, how can it be stolen from you?

While I certainly understand company pride and loyalty, at the end of the day, all regionals are just providing contracted lift for some other airline. (Leaving out "Branded flying," as that obviously doesn't fit here.) The flying will always flow to the cheapest provider, until the product becomes so shoddy that it would be better to just do it in house. We're not there yet, but getting closer to it every day.

 

That's rich............try talking to a few Comair guys. I'm just sayin'..........

 

If that was all you said then I am sure everyone would agree with you. (lowest bidder is the winner)

One thing I will admit though... BEFORE the merger DCI was already getting overcrowded. So it is understandable that you guys will get some dirty looks because you just moved into a house with no more rooms. But WE ALL also understand that MESABA and COMPASS had no choice in the matter. You are just the new kids on the block that's all. But do take a CLOSE look at Comair... look at their history... what they were and what they are now. It really sucks for them. I got friends at MESABA and from what I was last told... furlough is around the corner for them too. We all know the DL cuts in the FALL are deep and it hurts, no one is calling you a pi$$ant airline. Everyone is just frustrated, the senior guys can't move to mainline, the junior guys can't get senior and the probies are getting furloughed. No movement in the industry, just low wages, junior manning and less flying..... hmmm Why did I chose this as a career again? (I think I just got myself depressed )
