Not involved with either airline, but as an outside observer that's the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black.

As a 13 year furloughed Midwest Captain. I hope the meetings this week between the pilot groups are productive.
Did the careers of the Midwest pilot group blow up in their face? YES
Did they have anything to do with that? NO
Did the Republic pilots have anything to do with that? NO
It is what it is. It's time to work together to make Republic Airlines a proud place to work.
Lets do it together.

Right about what?
I've seem SUBSTANTIALLY more vitriol coming from MEH pilots toward RAH pilots than the other way around here on APC over the last couple months. As such, it seems to me that RAH pilots are much more willing to "work together" with Midwest pilots than Midwest pilots are to "work together" with RAH pilots if you judge solely by content & attitude of posts on this here interweb board.
Or the looming SWA/F9 situation.
But yes, I too suspect it will go to arbitration and MEH pilots will exhaust every legal option to defend their contract; I would expect nothing less.
That doesn't mean they have to start burning bridges before even talking to their future colleagues...especially when the alternative is quite likely insolvency.

This situation will most likely go to arbitration and possibly court down the line, not very different from the USair fiasco.

Thats ok. Make it last a while. Then when they get the arbitration won, via ALPA (a real union unlike yours), they will get back pay and make BB hurt where it counts. And then all your whiney E175 guys can sit back and enjoy DOH winning out and being forced well down on a seniority list.
And also, please don't act like you know anything about our pilot group or the on-goings of our company.

You forget that this will be the first time that there will be an attempt to integrate a regional pilot group with a major/LCC pilot group, and that changes the dynamic completely. It is unavoidable that this situation is prone to conflict, and since as (you mentioned) you don't work for either one, your opinion is really just that, your opinion. I'm more interested on what the actual players have to say about this situation, the Midwest and RAH pilots.

Good old Meyers, the same whiney streaker that he is on JC. Grow up dude. Talking about unions and putting one down? Wow, that's productive. How old are you by the way? And what arbitration do you think there is? Please explain it to me.

Oh you would be an RAH guy.... Probably the same pilot who cracked a beer to cheer the bringing down of Midwest... And the same guy who was compalining that if you were to get F9 they should merge not based on DOH because you would be hosed....
But you know it all, like most RAH pilots seem to.

As for Whodee, I welcome you and hope to work this thing out to make both pilot groups become one happy family.

Will you be working for $37/hr to fly basically the SAME flights you did while making $144.73/hr?
