You say that now but wait until your wanting more money or more days off in your next contract. You will be calling every reporter to cover the story as you picket your airlines hub. Pressure from the public can be a good thing.

And last time I checked, getting on an regional airliner with two pilots falling asleep, is dangerous. How quickly we all forget.

Someone that works for Colgan needs to copy and paste this into an ASAP report ASAP..... If I worked there I certainly would!

Unbelievable.

No one should ever have to negotiate for reasonable safety measures! This is what congress is supposed to be for. Unfortunately I think we sometimes have no other choice.

Exactly, safety should not be negotiated.

It is completely ridiculous that we as airline pilots have to expend negotiating capitol on things such as fatigue policies and duty/rest rules. That IS NOT compensation WHATSOEVER. We are paying to make the airline safe because the airline and the FAA won't.

Since you don’t understand, let me offer you a crystal clear explanation of what this reporter is trying to do:

He is on the pilot’s side. He is trying to make the public aware of our pay, working conditions, and the rules we abide too. Without the help of reporters getting this information out to the public, things will never change for us.

So next time you complain about pay, schedule, fatigue, and how your airline is screwing you and how your union sucks, just remember that your contributing to it by not opening your mouth when you have the opportunity.

P.S: If I worked for Colgan I would be all over this opportunity contingent upon one written agreement: My name wouldn’t be used and my face wouldn’t been shown to avoid management reprocussion.

The ignorance people demonstrate amazes me…

Great post!
This is a CNN reporter, this is a great opportunity to expose these ridiculous policies. I'm sure your identity would be protected. I would hope to think he's going to be flooded by responses!
