"People...Top...People"

DAL Pilot Types have been hearing this. Could be an easy way to shed extra unwanted lift/aircraft without having to go to court or buy out a contract.

Don't really believe it. But is slightly plausible.

I dont think so.

their goal would be to shed aircraft, especially if the lessors/owners aren't budging on terms of the contracts.

Even the threat is normally enough to make people come to the table.

Do you ever think before posting? The implication that XJT is going under is absurd given the recent events and developments.

Yeah no not gonna happen. The Saabs are already on their last leg before the leases expire. The 200's are the youngest in the delta fleet. They'll be transfered to another company before ever getting dumped. 900's ...... Not going anywhere. You can put this rumor to rest it has zero merit.

EV120 01-17-2010 04:54 PM

This is a rumor I am glad to hear is not true. Mesaba has been through the ringer to many times to count.

That was already done when we were in bankruptcy. The Saab leases were redone to allow for an early termination date. Delta is phasing them out currently. All will be gone within 2 years as it is. There is no reason to go to bankruptcy to dump them. The 200's are the newest in all of DCI, they would be transfered to park older 100/200's. The 900's aren't going anywhere. Delta would gladly add more if they could.

Was this from the cousin of a friend that a flight attendant's neighbor told you?!

Yeah, Comair was forced to file, even though they did not need to, because they would have been an asset the creditors could have gone after during DAL's bankruptcy.
