Does Eagle require new hires to sign a training contract?

Do I need to have the FCC license to get a interview?

Thanks Flyby1206. I completed my application today. Your link was very helpful because the FCC web sit is a labyrinth and difficult to navigate. |

We know that having an internal recommendation at Eagle is helpful for getting an interview.
How is a recommendation from someone at American Airlines viewed? Is that considered an internal recommendation (since they are both owned by the same holding company)? If not, is it still more helpful than a recommendation from somewhere else? |
I think a recommendation from an AA guy is the same as an Eagle guy. It may move you up the stack, but you still have to pass the interview on your own.
By the way, I just heard from some one in hiring that they want 50 guys a month for the foreseable future. Get your apps in now...there is going to be huge movement in the coming months. |
what, unknown aircraft order or they know what the new FTDT rules are before they are published?

that is only for the last 184 (about) for recall all the rest have to wait for new hire classes. I am going to go with the latter of my question and say this is all do to the new FTDT and the companies got a heads up.
AA is in no way expanding, just as eagle is not except the 22 CRJ's. It is just reducing frequencies somewhere and add a new city to pick up the slack and make it look as is you are expanding. Old playbook just so AA/AMR can get there name in the news. |

Word down here is that ALL remaining 2,000 furloughees will be offered recall by this time next year. Acceptence rates vary but up to 700 are actually expected to return. Add in the extra pilots from the FTDT, the age 65 retirements soon to hit huge, and the Sup W remedy has given just about every Eagle Captain a seat at the big table. Which all means that there will likely be 1500+ new Eagle captains in the next few years.
AA is putting on extra schoolhouse guys, Eagle has added theirs as well, and word is they even posted for 3 more Captains to help in hiring. Get in now, while you can. |

I got an email from American Eagle/airlineapps today essentially saying "we will review your application in 2 days, make sure it's updated" which was kind of nice to see.
My app has been on airlineapps for a good number of months now, but I only recently met the mins and updated my medical. Tt 1010, multi 130, no internal rec, no checkride busts. My question, is there any reason to be excited or is this just a self-generated computer message from AE? Best of luck to you all! |

IF by any case you haven't heard about them in 7 days, write them an email asking your status. (in whatever email they wrote you there) If everything looks good they'll send another email telling you to call recruitment to make an appointment for interview. So my suggestion is... START STUDYING!!!!!!!!! :D Good luck. |
Wow you guys make me hopeful! :)
To me it sounded like little more than an automated message because I have just met their mins, but hey I'll take your side gladly! My main worry is that I don't have much work experience, a CFI job for one year and stop counting. I wonder how that's going to look with background checks and stuff. Oh well, we shall hope and see. Thanks guys. |
What are the chances of a new hire being able to hold a DFW base right now?
|
you folks can do as you please, BUT, I would not come here since what happens to Eagle is still uncertain and its future unknown. Not even management truly knows and ALPA is as always in the dark.
But these are the same people who were brought in last time for the sale of eagle but nothing happened. You know the economy was not right, more like AA wants to maintain control of AE even after the sale, but for now, there is no one that stupid out there. So with this uncertanty at AE, why would you come here just to start all over from the bottom elsewhere. my 2 cents. |

not really, it just means it finally made it past the filter. |

If you meet the mins, turn your stuff in. We need tons of guys really soon. My guess is that they won't be able to find enough qualified applicants in the near future.

So I have a question about commuting. How feasible would it be to commute from SLC to DFW if I was sitting reserve? Do many pilots at eagle commute that route? Also, I know this is hard to tell but does anyone know how long a new hire in DFW would sit reserve with all this growth? I am hoping for 6 months? lol |
