LGA EMB is a bit fat on staffing, but LGA CRJ and JFK EMB arent.

mwa1 11-15-2010 11:15 AM

until 25 posts I think

jelloy683 11-15-2010 11:39 AM

Due to the fact that I live in Chicago, what are the chances of getting ORD as a base? I'm currently employed at a 135 operation and thinking about applying to Eagle, but don't like commuting to work. I hear that they assign bases based on seniority, which is based on the age of people in your class, what's the chances of a 27 year old holding any decent pick? Also, how does it work when it comes to trading bases with people in your class?

I have a quick question for my upcoming interview. If RVR is reporting m/5/5 can you take off? I really need help understanding this question that is found on the gouges. Please help. Also With the paperwork and log book, what errors would they send you home for? Mine seems to be right, and neat as it can be, Just wondering. Hate to be sent home for this and nothing else. Thanks.

if you are fed ex in mem yes ae has 666 as mins with all the lights listed on the back of the Jepp airport diagram. the answer lies in your op specs. rvr is controlling over twr vis when available

Actually one CAN be missing but all three are controlling. M/5/5 is obviously no bueno but M/6/6 is legal. 5/6/6 however is not. This is all provided the proper lighting and markings are in place and operational.

Look on the back of the chart for the answer. It will tell you the visibility requirements and anything else needed. You wouldn't be expected to know Eagle's opspec so just read the chart.

wiz5422 11-17-2010 10:29 AM

Thanks for the help. My interview is on the 22nd!

Look on the back of the airport diagram. It'll list the requirement and say how many reporting stations can be missing.

Anyone know when the latest interviews were. Are they continuously doing interviews?

Projections for 2011 hiring anywhere between 300 and 600 pilots. Newhire classes run every two weeks and range from 20-25 per class.

TXav8r13 11-18-2010 04:32 PM

Just came from the school house and they said that they will probably start morning and evening classes because there is limited classroom space.

How do we recommend people? Is there something on jetnet or do we have to write a letter and send it to HR?

Nope, they started at 07:00 long before now.

AmericanEagleFO 11-21-2010 11:39 AM

If you're lucky you can talk the instructor into a 6am class. We did, but that was a few years ago.

Flyby1206 11-22-2010 07:18 AM

Anyone in the class starting today know what aircraft/bases were offered and how many?

COTriple7 11-22-2010 07:07 PM

1 dfw atr, 3 mia atr, 2 ord crj, 13 ord emb, 8 lga crj, 1 dfw emb

Terantious 11-22-2010 09:59 PM

withthatsaid182 11-23-2010 08:44 AM

With the holidays upon us I finally snagged a line for Dec. I'm trying to figure out this trip trading business. Was it here or on Eaglelounge that I saw either a thread or a sticky on TTOT?

I'm trying to get a crash course on it. There was some document on JetNet I'm gonna go looking for too.

Thanks

TTOT guide is on the "Eagle Pilot" page, "Bid info" tab.

It's pretty easy:

HT

B-OPEN SEQ LIST
** WELCOME TO TRIP TRADE WITH OPEN TIME **

ENTER ONE OF THE FOLLOWING

DROP A TRIP - NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME

TRADE A TRIP - ENTER.... HTS/A/YOUR SEQ/DATE

PICKUP A TRIP - ENTER.... HTO/B/PICKUP SEQ NUMBER/DATE/SEAT

You may have to rearrange your duty free period (off days) to pick up something that is during an off day, but it's all self explanitory.

Here is my 1st few paychecks at AE. This was off 2008 wages.

1st 1138 gross 1038 paycheck
2nd 1185 gross 1041 paycheck
3rd 1186 gross 1041 paycheck

Then I went to the line to fly and you get paid less and I broke guarantee [flew more than 75 hours in month] first 2 months on the line!

6th 870 gross 682 paycheck
7th 1047 gross 869 paycheck

Take note your paid twice monthly. 15th day and 30th day. ~$2000 per month in training take home pay.

Sort of unrelated to the purpose of your post, but how do they break up your pay? Do you get the second half of your guarentee plus per diem and over guarantee on the 15th from the month before?
