So... I'm assuming after the interview you wait for a letter to tell you your equipment and class date? Or do you get a class date after the interview?

After interview, you get a conditional pre-offer letter, then after you pass background and captain board you get a conditional offer letter. After you pass the medical you get the class offer letter. You can decline it two times...

Then when you start training the first thing in the morning is pick up base and equipment by seniority (birth day).

They dont send anything saying what base and equipment will be up for bidding in the morning of the first day. You can just look at past post and see the trend of what was to choose from. Looks like its been about about 4-8 ATRs, 10ish CRJ, and 20 Embraer. Bases are usually all but LAX and I havent heard of people getting JFK lately.

For those curious about progression...I'm ORD EMB, was off IOE just before Thanksgiving, and got my first line next month. Never had a composite or relief line either, just went straight from RSV to a line. Very nice & unexpected!

Any way to tell if my interview is for real or just a filler day? Also how many people are in a class roughly and how tough is training?

Interview is FOR REAL. Take it seriously and prepare accordingly. Training, if you have good study habits and pay attention in class is really not that bad. Like drinking from a fire hose. On full blast. when you leave the "school house" for the day, go over your memory and limitation items. That ground oral will be on you before you know it. Also go over your call outs and profiles EXACTLY LIKE THEY WANT YOU TO CALL THEM OUT. This is to protect the instructors and you. Some guys have been sent home for not doing it like it calls for in the fom's.

Also, if you need help, DON'T be afraid to ask and go get it. Back seat a sim session, whatever. Hope this helps you.

I don't know who made up the idea of "fillers", but I seriously doubt they are gonna call anyone that they don't want to hire. If I'm wrong, prove it.

And just because "your buddy" thought he did well on the interveiw but never got the call doesn't mean he was a "filler". Maybe he's just a douche.
