Probably half were CFI's. At the start they said they were looking to hire 700 pilots this year and they had already hired 200 this year. They said the number just keeps increasing, crazy days.

Welcome to the party where everyday is crazy

As for hiring at minimums. I was hired and started march 28th applying at 805/200. Started AE with about 850 TT. Now just need another 2150 before I can upgrade to captain, but it will be about 3-5 yrs before my senority number is called for an upgrade.[/QUOTE]

I think I would be more concerned with getting through initial training then worrying about an upgrade at this point.

You have to be concerned to get trough training even before thinking getting a line. After you get a line you start worrying about the upgrade.

The RR license is easy to get, google it pay 60 bucks and get your number from the same website the next day. Same as for a medical just take a few hours out of your day to get it.
These items must all be current prior to applying. Keep in mind that they do go back to your original application to look for discrepancies. On that note don't put that you have 800 hours when you apply when you actually have 780 because they will go back to verify that you did have the hours you stated when you applied.

haha 3-5 year upgrade, these new people are hilarious. Be happy if you aren't furloughed in 6 months.

You guys need to keep in mind that the HR people have to keepo their jobs too... which means they have to interview XX number of people each week. if they don't have enough applications they will call you down for an interview, knowing full well in advance that they are not going to hire you.... but they don't care about wasting your time, so long as they get their numbers up. It's typical AMR; Ain't My Responsibility... and their boss doesn't look at what they reject, only what they approve....

Yes, that is correct. One checkride bust. Commercial ASEL 8 years ago. I think it's safe to say most people have had a checkride failure some time during their training.

Disagree. I would counter your unscientific assertion with mine: More than a few have busted at some point; but not "most".
