Who pays that much to fly a Cherokee? And does your payscale go up to $100+ per hour eventually?

I bought the Dakota in my profile. I fly a desk for the time being now and use the Dakota for travel and time building.

100 hours is not the max per a month. I know a few FO's that are getting +130 hours of pay a month and only flying 60-70 hours a month. In fact I know a LGA FO that his monthly avg is 140 hours of pay.

I'd like to know how to do that.... Seriously.

let me tell you a little dirty secret. SHUT UP. This stuff is not for the boards. Or you will find out that will change in our contract.

I'd have to wave the BS flag a little bit here. I would love to see that HI1. I'm by no means an expert but I've played the game long enough to understand how to max my pay.

I just don't see any way possible for you to credit 140 hours and only fly 60 or 70.
actually, I take that back, the only way i see to do that is if you had two vacations in a month and worked them and also flew with an IOE captain, got displaced and then picked up a 4 day.
and that doesn't happen every month, so for him to average that.... well someone is fibbing.

other than that, you cant get enough flying dropped in the transition even with 30 in 7 to warrant that kind of credit. On top of that you still have to pick up more flying to increase the credit.

My example for this month is I will get about 113 hours. I did this without being taken off for transition but I lost a lot of flying because of weather, then picked up at 150%. However, i still flew 98 hours for May.

On that example, even if i dropped an average day of say, 5.5 hours of flying in the transition, i might only be able to add between 10 and 12 hours of pay for a total of 125.

I'm not saying 140 is impossible, but to say that you could do that continuously for 11 or 12 months of the year while flying 60-70 hrs would be nothing short of magical.

I saw that Eagle has CRJ instructor positions open. What is the pay for a CRJ ground instructor there? Is there opportunity for advancement? Are you put on the seniority list or are you considered management?

Gotcha. Well hey, if you have a good paying desk job that you don't hate, that may be best for you. Starting off at a regional can be pretty tough that first year. You gotta love flying and not mind being away from home to make it through. If you go to a decent airline, it does get better, and can end up being a pretty sweet job. Personally, I couldn't handle a 9-5 type job, I would go crazy. But everyone is different. A lot of the people that are on here *****in all the time about the airlines are the ones that should be flying a desk. That or they went and got hired at some crap hole bottom feeder and get beat up day after day by their crappy contract and work rules. It all depends on your situation and what you make of it.

For those that have finished their Sim Checkrides you may get a couple of weeks off. I finished 2 weeks ago and still waiting for the call for Loft. Enjoy the time off but dont make any major plans because that could be when you get the call.
