Sorry for the newb questions here, so how do they determine where you will be based if hired? I thought someone said age? Or good looks. Biggest collection of pilot gear? Thanks lol.

On your first day of class they'll post on the board what bases and equipment is available for bidding.

The last vacancy bid had 100 open FO positions for all bases except SJU. All jets have vacancies right now. Not sure what is going on with the ATR. They may have openings or Eagle may let the fleet dwindle down and displace everyone.

The most senior person bids first on down the line. Seniority is determined by age. Anyone who goes straight to the jet will be seat locked until they upgrade or are displaced.

One you have access to the computer you can place a bid for a different base.

Anyone who ends up in the ATR ( if there are any vacancies) will have a 1 year seat lock.

I hope this helps.

No it won't. You can get that a lot quicker at a Legacy or SWA then in 10 years.

What are the CRJ bases? I'm assuming it's a top choice for training.

Don't underrate either. Both can be a fun ride and a way to gain valuable experience. Even a fine final destination given the right one and the proper attitude.

I dont mean to Hijack the thread away from fat chicks at bars, but in my Chicago newspaper this morning I read an article about AMR's intention to divest Eagle at a July 19th/20th meeting. Is this old news that only just made it to the local news agencies or is it something new? The last gist I got from the posts around here was that the divesture was shelved, at least temporarily until better incentive came around. Again, is this all old news or did something new happen to bring it back to the spot light?
