You can make 150 to 200K at a legacy with 18 days off a month too.

6 months max.

It changes so fast, by the time you leave training the most junior base will be different from right now.

Yes I could have searched forums but I'd like an up to date answers on Eagle, if a few of you would be so kind. Thank you.

How many hours a month can one expect currently to be able to fly once training is finished? I have absolutely no airline experience. Corporate, and 135. No way I could make it on gaurentee so I was hoping to fly the max. Im dreaming? Reasonable if I give dispatch Wendy's coupons? ? :o

Second, again I have no background and this question has had me wracking my brain. Does one or must one live where domiciled or is it possible to be on reserve and commute? I can hear the laughs already. I'd just like to know.

How long is it taking to upgrade to hold a line?

Again thanks for you patience. All my colleagues are corporate. I have always had the goal of flying for the airlines. I am older and now that my kids are finally saying... "Dad, don't you have something else to do?" LOL I feel it is a perfect time to jump over.

Thanks so much!
Once you have a little bit of seniority you can break Guarantee easily. I tough I wasn't going to break it this month and finished with 82.5 hrs projected (they pay the greater of projected and actual).

Line hold after IOE if you're in the CRJ ORD will be like in 3 months. Emj ORD like in 7 months. CRJ LGA have little movement since a lot pilots are very juniors and they are not getting more CRJs in that base. EMJ DFW will take like 6 months. MIA EMJ is very senior will take you like 8 months or more.

ATR all bases will be fairly quick.

You can commute while on reserve, but is not recommended...

^^ MIA EMJ is becoming very junior, they keep hiring into it, if you were hired a few months ago you would be 50 of 80 come fall.

Funny I heard 3-6 months max when I got hired. 3 years later I got my first hard line.

Hmm. Interesting. I thought that is how things might pan out if and when the legacy airlines start hiring in bigger numbers. You'll have alot of FOs at regionals without a lot of PIC but a lot of time none the less. The Caps, with some seniority wont want to give that up for the precise reason you just said.

What are your thoughts guys?

honeywellavi 06-30-2011 11:21 PM

Yep that is about what I thought to be true just wanted to get a confirmation. My wife and I are trying to "fit" into the low pay no say on regional side. Thanks so much for the info guys.
