Company president came and talked to us today. Was asked about the divestiture, for me it seemed as though it wasn't if but when it will happen. Said it could be a good thing as Eagle will try and get flying from another source IE United. Said that we are about 5% more expensive than other regional's. The biggest cost was more senior pilots. He was asked how we would become cheaper. He didnt really have an answer just said the senior pilots would have to move on. Also said if the divestiture did happen, we would no longer be American Eagle. Didn't give us any clue as to what it would be called, he didnt seem to have any idea. He also talked about the new rest rules and age 65. Said it should cause a temporary shortage and that Eagle will have to become a place that people wanted to go in order to attract new pilots. Wants to stay ahead of the hiring game so that if it happens they are ahead of other regionals in regards to hiring. Thats all I can really remember. Hope it all makes sense.

That's going to give me a line pretty soon!!!! :) probably by august.

Awesome, thanks...ORD is my #1 choice so that number will go up by at least 1 more FO (once I get offered a training date)

Now don't forget, to get a line it's not how many are junior to you, but how many are above you on the list. Just hope they don't cut lines in ORD.

Yea but if you have a bunch below you, your reserve QOL is gonna go up right? Or do you get picked for trips at random?

The answer from your first question...I finished IOE in Feb (nov hire).

And for the second question:

Yes, I pick almost whatever I want, and with almost 30below me the call me for late trips with long overnights if I don't proffer and get a RAP 2.

Assignments are in reverse seniority so if you're the guy bellow in a RAP 1 you can get a call at 4am in the morning.

Garton is so out of touch with reality it's scary. Our biggest cost is our incompetent management.

American Eagle was behind 15 of 16 long tarmac delays in May | Airline Biz Blog | dallasnews.com

The 15 planes on the ground more than 3 hours will cost more than the total yearly compensation for the top 50 pilots at Eagle.

don't worry, that person in charge of dynamic manning on the ramp that caused the dot fines and the person that dropped the ball with hiring will both get a bonus this year! but not to worry, you and I will receive 150% for being jr manned!

I am just chiming in for those of you who, like me, are between 50 and 100 multi-engine hours with an application in to AE.

I hadn't heard anything back since they lowered the minimums, so last night I sent a very professional email to AEPilotRecruitment thanking them for looking over my attached resume and application and just mentioning that I would really like to work for the company. I heard back this morning with the dreaded "Thanks, but no thanks" email.

Just some insight on me for comparison: 1300/88, 30 y/o CFII, FCC license, Passport, IFR current, ATP test, military vet, and currently employed at a well-known aviation University. I have been updating my app nearly everyday as I am flying twins to build my ME time to 100. I'm pretty disappointed in the news, but I have apps in elsewhere. Good luck to the rest of you...
